Unlike his boxness, I post a week or two in advance in order to gather as much info as possible. Also, I noticed as soon as I post, the line moves against me, so someone must figure I am the best fade candidate out there. Good. I like Karmazin big here. A number of reasons. Spinks has fought at 147 for quite some time. Off OVER a year. I love these guys who get whooped then go up in weight and figure they will be "stronger" and not drained by having to make weight. Yea, well, Karmazin has been a lt. middle and is taller. He too has had a long layoff. I think Cory's peaking days are over so, he is taking a shot at anything to save his fledgling career. I feel the bigger man will prevail here. OK, I'll wait a while till the money starts coming in on Spinks so I can a better price on Karmazin. Whoever it is, thank you in advance.

I agree that Karmazin will win, basically for the reasons you already stated. But Im not to sure there will be alot of money for Spinks. Like you said Spinks is moving up, had a long lay off, got pounded by Judah. Where as Karmazin had a career best performance against Ouma.

Before 2000, Spinks was fighting at 140

Karmazin has been at 154 his entire career and he's 2" taller with a slight reach advantage, obviously the much bigger guy here

HOWEVER

Karmazin's best win was a bit of a fluke, Ouma had the flue coming into the fight but decided to go ahead with it. He obviously wasn't himself in that fight.

Spinks has a huge advantage in handspeed here. In the Judah fight, the handspeed was about even. Obviously I don't see Cory trading much with the bigger guy, he had no power at 147 and he'll have even less effect on a true 154 lber with a solid chin. So I expect Spinks to use his speed and boxing skills to avoid exchanges with the bigger, stronger guy. If his plan works, this fight will definitly go the distance, that means trouble for Karmazin backers. The fight is in Spinks hometown and Don King is promoting it, as far as I know Spinks is still a King fighter so he could lose every round and still get the decision.

Laying wood against a King fighter in his home town while giving up handspeed is definitly risky business.

I think you got the right guy, but there's alot going against Karmazin in this spot. And his defining win was against Ouma who was obviously not right in that fight.

Just giving you my honest opinion

And I appreciate it. I smell fish, but even the best laid plans of mice, etc. So we see some home cooking, eh? Perhaps. Don, the felon, King had HUGE plans for ole Zabby, but they went south fast. I haven't committed just yet. I'll wait till $ comes in on Spinks, then I'll see.
