Still a really quiet weekend next Friday and Saturday.

ESPN has undefeated Juan Carlos Burgos (who fights under the Thompson Boxing Banner, home of Tim Bradley).

SKY has the Norton-Dolan rematch.

Fox Espanol and Top Rank debut their new series with Vanes and Ouma. Let's hope this series goes better than the Top Rank Versus disaster. No Ty Fields main events please.

On the undercard of the SKY card Friday is an intriguing rematch.
Paul Samuels (20-7-2) vs. Cello Renda (18-8-1)

This is what happened last time they fought:

Wow, seems an even slower week than last.

Hopefully, we can start to get odds on a wider variety of fights. I know most of us would like to see more fights offered in general.

There are definitely alot of competitive, bettable fights that go by the wayside, I suppose because they are not headlining or not yet so well known.

I for one, would like to see more mid level fights offered... Sometimes even high-level fights don't appear, coming out of Russia, Ukraine, S.America, etc.

What'ya say Oddessa? More fights for us junkie's

thanks man

# John Ruiz signs with Golden Boy, meaning the Ruiz-David Haye( also repped by GBP) will be that much easier to make 30 minutes ago from web

There is some talk out there of Floyd and PWill. But we all know how Floyd does it. Campbell will be his guy. Floyd wouldn't even mix with Tim Bradley. No netwok or promoter should make a Floyd fight unless he fights a real guy. He's such a complete fraud.

If you like Pac, you have to do a prop bet. And a Dec or KO is a coin flip for me.

Maybe I'm getting cynical with age but I can't believe some of the nonsensical fights being discussed and now confirmed. Hop/RJ II is set for April in Vegas. Does ANYBODY(betting aside of course :142smilie) give a rats ass who wins or how the fight even plays out? Hop had a number of potential interesting matchups but he goes with RJ...WTF? Now we'll have to endure RJ's rants of being cheated in Austrailia and how he wants Klit after Hop, over the next 3 months. How on God's green earth are they going to sell this disaster? If HBO even considers buying this horseshit then they should pack it in now.

Now talk of Mayweather vs. Kermit Cintron. I would say that this is a much more acceptable opponent.

Now talk of Mayweather vs. Kermit Cintron. I would say that this is a much more acceptable opponent.

Cintron will get the fight and he will win
He has clearly signed a deal with the boxing demons
The man has been unbeatable since Margarito got busted for those concrete gloves

Cintron got KO'ed AND lost 9 rounds against Sergio Martinez
RESULT - The most inexplicable draw in boxing history

Then he voodoo dolled Angulo and gave him a 150 degree fever the night they fought
RESULT - Cintron wins clear decision

Floyd - beware
you are not above the Cintron black magic
the man pulls fights out of his asshole

My picks for this week:
Quite alot going on for slow week

V.Martirosyan (-600) I hit him early and hard for what I could. So did others as odds have skyrocketed. No big secret here...two trains going in different directions.

Martirosyan-Ouma UNDER 9.5 (+200) - large I really like this play, and at plus 2 I like it even more. Vanes hitting much harder lately...He bludgeoned Tsurkun in just 6. Roach is really getting him to settle down. Ouma 'has been' durable but Vanes is catching him at right time. Ouma will slow down, his face will puff up by mid fight... I think this one has a great chance of being stopped in 7 or 8 rounds.

Burgos-Martinez OVER 9.5 (-150) - med. This has all the looks of a distance fight. Burgos has begun to go rounds with better competition and Martinez is notoriously durable.

K.McIntyre (-105) - med. I wouldn't have touched this one at -250 (which is what I've seen McIntyre at most books.) For some strange - maybe even suspicious reason, he's at this price at Sportsbook. :scared McIntyre no world-beater, but this Thompson has been ridiculously protected and from what I understand is not thought of too highly in British circles.

UPSET CITY

JC Martinez (+285) - med. small Burgos is overrated. At some point he will get beat/upset. Whether or not Martinez is the guy to do it, I'm not sure...but at this price I will take a shot. Burgos had very tough fight with Ledesma and was life and death with shopworn jounreyman Perez (25-21-3). I've seen Perez numerous times, and anyone with real skill dusts him. Burgos may have improved since, but he is still young and protected. Martinez will be his toughest opponent. Martinez may have a bit of sparring partner mentality, but I think being televised he will put in a good performance. This will be a close, tough fight, either way. Martinez is certainly worth the price of admission here.

J.Hernandez (+230) - small I think Garcia is also young and a bit overrated. His tough go with W.Estrada was an alarm bell. Joksan is very tough and has been in good form. He gets the most out of his ability. I would make Garcia only a slight favorite here. Good fight, and at this price I think Joksan is worth a shot.

Thanks for reading... Good luck madmen!!

Let's have a kick-ass week!!! :SIB

My picks for this week

My picks for this week

2-Parlay
Burgos-350 + Rubio -350 (=-153)- Medium
Burgos is still learning, but a decent prospect. He has defintiely been protected, but it is time for him to step up in class and face Martinez. Martinez had a much improved 2009 compared to 2008, but he still has to many bad habits from his earlier days. Burgos should be able to take advantage of Martinez mistakes to win a UD here.

Rubio vs. Alvarez Under 8.5 -110 - Small
Rubio usually shines against opponents like this. Alvarez at 31 has only once faced good oppostion before, clearly never faced anyone with punching power like Rubio's, and is not fighting at his natural weight. Rubio is in his hometown where he has had a lot of knockouts. Alvarez is the deer in headlights except Rubio might have to run him over more than once to knock him out by the 7th.

Garcia vs. Hernandez Over 9.5 -135 -Small
This should be a great fight. It is the classic puncher vs. boxer match up. But is Garcia really a puncher? If Hernandez can weather the early storm by Garcia, this one should go the distance. Hernandez's boxing skills should give Garcia enough trouble to keep him guessing for 10 rounds. Plus, Hernandez went 10 with Bernabe Concepcion.

Good Luck guys!:)

Btw, Quanah I like your upset pick on J.Hernandez. I will most likely play that too.

Ouma is one tough son of a bitch
He is way faded and Vanes will beat him, but I would be pretty damn surprised to see a stoppage

I remember Ouma taking hellacious shots from Taylor - the dude will never quit

If he does get stopped, I think it will be late and controversial
but I think, more likely, Vanes wins a UD

these espn cards have done more to sour me on boxing than even the rash of bogus decisions....

i don`t know about everyone else, but it just gets ridiculously tiresome seeing up and comers and legit contenders fighting set-ups.....once in a blue moon, you get a decent fight or a journryman surprises with a good effort....

but,for the most part,it`s pathetically, purposefully overmatched guys thrown in to showcase a particular fighter...

like watching paint dry...
