Initially, this appears to be a train wreck waiting to happen. Bute is 20-0, 16 KO's, 6'2" and 27 years old. Nice stats for a supper-middle. He would, by all accounts, be the MUCH better fighter here. Berrio has won 26, lost 4 (all by KO) and 25 out of his 26 wins are by why of whack city(KO). Both guys have fought this year, with Bute most recently in June. What I can glean from this is that Berrio is the "X" factor here. Bute is polished and has been in with higher caliber opposition. He can box. Berrio seems to be a Mayorga/Miranda hybrid. Goes ape-shit from the jump. A guy like this is either successful and gets the KO or gets frustrated and does I don't know what. He will be facing a tough test in Bute. If Berrio goes berserk and leaves himself open, he may add to his KO losses again. Hence the purpose of this post is to consider Berrio as a SMALL play and the UNDER 10.5 round prop as a larger play. Berrio has gone 11 rounds, but not versus a step up such as Bute. Looking for punchy and tony-m to punch holes in my analysis.

I like what i read here.

Just some info on both fighters :

Bute is a nice moving fast southpaw with pop but he likes to fight from a distance. His right hand tends to hang low but he keeps his left hand to his chin. (that is always a plus)
I saw him against Bika first time and he sure has skills but Bika had his moments in this fight too.

Berrio on the other hand is a interesting story.
What we have here is a fighter who fought his way up the tough way. He is with a real trainer for two years and he has improved alot. The first time he fought Stieglitz he had 3 weeks to prepare, he got stop in 11.
He than has a very impressive win over Mack (the same Mack that put Andrade on his ass for the first time). He kissed him on the forehead shortly before he knocked him out. nice uppercuts.
Then the rematch with Stieglitz where he fought very relaxed and cautious for the first two rounds, clearly losing both. And then on the ropes he takes Stieglitz down with one right hand. Stieglitz is up and ready fast. Now comes what i like Berrio takes his time sticks out his jab to find his range takes a good look and boom another right hand puts Stieglitz down. He gets up again and Berrio does a very nice job finishing a wobbeled Stieglitz without missing a shot.
Point is against Stieglitz he fought nothing like a let it all hang out brawler but more like a counter puncher waiting for his big shot.
But he was getting tagged by Stieglitz pretty easy too.
Berrio is an improving fighter with desire and momentum and big power and he fights not stupid. i dont know how to figure in theearly Ko losses but i am not a believer in the bad chin theories, but if he gets hit right he goes down. (that could have been gardenweasel right there)
At plus 300 he is a solid play, not as good a reyes vs Johnson last week, but if i had to bet i would go the same way you went.
I have some on Berrio at 330 and will look at the props for this fight.
Heh if we lose we lose together, isnt that a consoling thought ?

To be honest i am waiting on my man. This guy is the real deal he went 3 to 1 again last weekend with dogs with at least plus 200 (reyes straight, Juan diaz inside , Ibby dec) Stieglitz inside didnt make it. I believe i am a good capper but i have a very bad feeling going against this guy. I did it once big time with Williams via dec over Mag, but thats about it. So i sit back and wait.

1837- what channel is the fight on? I cant seem to find it.

The under 10.5 seems highly likely.
I think Bute wins by middle round KO. he is too polished for Berrio.

I posted a play on Berrio +350 in my futures a few weeks ago...just a small play

The only possible problem I can see with the Under is that Bute needs to fight a very smart fight or he's in trouble, I think his team knows that. It wouldn't surprise me if Bute stayed out of danger and boxed his way to a 12 round decision, esp knowing he has the hometown advantage on the cards. I'm not saying thats what will happen, just giving you the only scenario I can think of that poses a problem

gl on your plays

Thanx men. Tony; much food for thought! Box; my thoughts also. Sometimes guys with many KO's, when they fight each other, no one goes down. Bute may just do enought to stay alive and get his hand raised. Looking at the offerings so far, this is the only matchup I could even possibly consider playing. Hopefully more will be reavealed as the week progresses.

Seems to me that the only way Berrio wins is via KO, especially given the location,so that could be used as a hedge or insurance. -325 is out there on Bute, you add in Gomez and/or Mora and you could be looking at close to even money on Bute, no matter how he wins, and then do what you will with under action or Berrio KO Prop. The hole in this is a Berrio decision but that's the least likely of the outcomes. TonyM has a nice perspective, having seen the Stieglitz fights. Bute is a nice southpaw boxer though- Bika's not bad and Bute seemed to handle him at least as easy as Calzaghe.

got some fresh news about Bute...:SIB he was interview with his coach on radio and Bute doesnt think it will last the whole 12 rounds. His coach told that Bute did 143 :scared rounds of sparring for that fight and is ready to go and they plan to answer to Berrio offense by quick response and Bute is not intimidated by Berrio strenght... Quick fight guys. Bute by KO in the 6th... ;)

For the fight Chill you wont catch it. It is on TVA here live at 22:00 pm friday.

If thats the case it will definitly be a quik fight, but Bute may not be the winner. Why punch with a puncher when thats his only shot of beating you? I think Bute and his team should lay off the macho act and realize that staying out of danger and boxing this guy gives them the best chance of winning the fight

Just my opinion

I don't know if you can mention other boxing related sites here, but fight news of Canada has an excellent interview with Carl Handy, who fought both guys. Bute DOES hit very hard also. I just feel Berrio doesn't think he can win a technical boxing match with Bute. He will try to KO him. Jusy my opinion. I'll take the speedier boxer/puncher/polished Bute over the raw power of Berrio. Wonder what the price will be on "doesn't go the distance"? Anyone see this number yet?

just want to say my man is small on Berrio. He believes Bute is legit but Berrio is worth a shut at these odds with his power. He is also small on Mcall for pretty much the same reasons.
