I am with you. He is a little old and gives up 2 inches but his resume is much better imo.
I take him and Mosley inside in parlay too. nearly +2000

I understand the logic of the play, Lorenzo's resume is by far the more impressive of the two. However, Lorenzo is getting old and has been through so many wars, he looked like sh!t in his last couple fights. Lorenzo's style is pressure, aggression, and workrate...not good for a guy whose now 36 and breaking down.

Here's proof that Lorenzo is almost shot...in late '06 he fought C.Cruz and easily won a lopsided decision. However, they fought again in '07 and Lorenzo was dropped early in the fight by the light punching Cruz and almost lost a very close decision. I played Lorenzo very big in that fight and was warned by several people that Lorenzo was almost shot and to be careful. I won the wager but was very, very lucky.

One other thing that would worry me is Rosales opened -130 and was quickly bet up to -150...5dimes now has -160/+140. Alot of money coming in on the younger, fresher fighter.

I'll do some more looking at Rosales

lorenzo is awkward and tough......he reminds me of a sort of mini-sam soliman....

he`s always a worthy dog vs everything short of elite guys.....and even then,he`s still dangerous....

you`d better be in shaoe when you fight lorenzo...

Meanwhile back at the freakin ranch, the $$$ is streaming in on Rosales! SB.com had Lorenzo +120. 5D's has him like +145 or so right now. Also, I see the price on Joel Casamajor has dropped also. I'm convinced iI am snakebit. I might need to vacate the premises for a while and see the proctologist to have my head extracted from you know where!. I am certain I own the record for betting into a line and having it move in the opposite direction.

i saw box`s post....and i admittedly know little about lorenzo`s opponent.....

apparently, the money`s on the fave.....still,i caught it at +140 and i always like to play lorenzo as a dog.....small play....

if lorenzo doesn`t pull the upset,i know he`s won me much more than he`s cost me obver the last several years....

btw,box... i wouldn`t be too hard on cruz....he`s only been beaten by top drawer guys the last few years....he`s no pushover...

The only critisizm I gave Cruz was that he was a light puncher...and I stand by my remark

My intention was to show the difference in results between their two fights. Lorenzo dominated the 1st fight between them but got dropped and almost lost the 2nd fight

Like I said, I played Lorenzo very big in the rematch with Cruz and almost lost my ass. If Lorenzo can barely get past Cruz, he's in big trouble against Rosales. I think everyone betting on this fight knows what Lorenzo brings to the table, and they're still betting Rosales...big

Rosales looked very confident against Licona,
He is a hard puncher but tends to get sloppy at times.
This is a step up in class for Rosales and will move him into being a title challenger with a win.
Lorenzo is aging and may not have much left in the tank. He failed to beat a similar prospect in Roman Martinez.
I like Rosales by DEC. He has the youth the height the reach and the hunger to win.

well...after giving this some thought...and recognizing certain truths such as:

1)i haven`t seen nor am i familiar with rosales..

2)lorenzo IS 36

3)we come here to glean info from other boxing aficionados and to ignore their input is stubborn, not to mention stupid....

i`ve decided to offset my lorenzo wager(very small) with a rosales wager(enough to earn me a small profit)......

and if lorenzo wins... :mj16:

i kid....

Well, Lorenzo just won on points.

he did what he always does....he outworked, outhustled and generally frustrated his opponent.....missed around 1,000 punches....but,he threw around 1,500....

i must say, though, that rosales was nothing special....his resume was ?...

it`s my own fault....my decision...should have stuck to my guns....

.on to saturday night....we`ll get `en then...

congrats franks....

btw,weepaul....i wasn`t touting rosales....so please don`t blame me if you took him...

let me add one item to this thread....

if i`m not up to snuff on a fighter....if theres some doubt about a particular fight and box(in particular box) or tony or romi or punch or franks have an opinion or knowledge of that fight or fighter,i`ll absolutely lean in that direction every time and come out on the plus side of the ledger....

but,we`re all grown men and make OUR OWN decisions,inevitably....we put that password in and push that accept button...

now,shane mosley......you blue eyed soul brother....do something...:mj09:

I lost about $600 on 2 parlay's with Rosales. I NEVER blame anyone when it comes to boxing bets and I think Romi will attest to that. I have been into boxing since early childhood. When I win I don't blame anyone but myself. The same applies when I lose. I will never cry over spilt milk.

I do have a shit load of money riding on tomorrows fights.
We will see what happens.

I will say, the guys on this forum really know their shit. It is nice to see.:grins:

Sorry fellas...my bad...I learned a very valuable lesson last night...

"Shut the hell up and mind your own business"

franks wasn't looking for my opinion, but I jumped in anyway and made an ass of myself, I feel like a jerk...and rightfully so

It won't happen again boys, I'll be in my thread if you need me

Whoa there box. Since when did anyone need the OK to voice an opinion? Once a guy posts a pick, it is fair game as far as I am concerned. As long as you attack the idea, and not the person, ain't no biggie. If an opinion isn't strong enough to stand up to a challenge, maybe it isn't such a strong opinion after all.
