Any thoughts on this one? I like Rodriguez IF he manages to stay on his feet over 12. Hlat has moved up from 135 from a few yrs ago. He won a debated dec over Campbell @135 but was absolutely dominated by Holt @140 and barely lasted the distance. Delvin was disappointing when he wilted against Feliciano whom he was dominating before tiring. Feliciano can fight a little and he's 6' tall which is difficult to deal with. I wish this were for 10 rds because those last 2 may do Rodriguez in. Rodriguez opened as the favorite but now Hlat is. I'm considering Rodriguez @+odds. Keep in mind the fight is in Sth Africa and we may not get the results until next year. Any comments would be appreciated.

Boy tough call Romi

My initial instincts, like you, was to tip Delvin due to his height and power advantage....he is clearly the bigger puncher and I'm not sure if Hiat can take the banging at 147

But the location has made me flip flop back and forth

Also Feliciano cannot punch at all and knocked Dellvin out badly....Oscar Diaz had him reeling in round 4 before the tragic end there....

don't forget this is Delvin's first fight back from that....sometimes guys pull there shots after a tragedy like that....

tough tough fight to call....I may lean toward the African by controversial decision....

here is Graham Houston going with Hiat:

good luck....let's see how they weigh-in....

the over 9.5 looks good unless its a Delvin KO

but -350 is expensive.....

I have gone Big on Delvin at +150.

I have gone Medium on under 9 1/2 at +300.

If this fight is on the up and up, Delvin should win on points.

Guys with speed trouble Issac and Delvin has speed and size.
Holt nearly killed Issac and he is a quick, snappy puncher rather than a huge puncher just like Delvin.

I took the under because of how badly hurt Holt had Issac on numerous occasions. If Delvin gets him THAT hurt, I think he will finish him.
On the other Hand Felliciano finished Delvin with ease when he ran out of gas and Felliciano is not a puncher at all, just a pressure fighter.

Some people think that the result of Delvin's last fight might bother him and make him gunshy. I believe this to be horseshit as Diaz seems to be recovering (which is GREAT news).

I hate that the fight is in Africa but what can you do!!

Good luck boy's :toast:

I held off until this morning. I'm not overly confident but I just put 250 @+135 on Delvin. It's a pic em but Delvin is certainly live here @+ odds. Not a big wager...I felt obligated to put something on it after starting this thread w/a slight lean on the dog. I hope we get the results before Thanksgiving. Good luck!

ALOT of new odds @ 5dimes. What's up w/those 3 rders in England? I put a buck on Jonathon Banks over Enzo +270...Enzo coming off a brutal ko by Haye and Stewards boy is still undefeated. I also put a buck on Brahmer +150 for the lght hvy fight in germany this weekend. I think all 3 are basically pic ems and I like the +odds.

I went with the South African Hiatschwayo...but am feeling very unconfident going against wee and you....
I think Delvin may have the power to get him out of there...but i went with the hometown advantage...

I'm staying away from those 3 rounders....don't know if those are part of some reality tv show or what....

I like Brahmer's chances this weekend....will follow you there for sure....

I can get Rodriguez at +144 and the Under at +296...I have never seen Isaac but he seems to be dwarfed by Rodriguez...he is 4 inches shorter and 5 fights ago he has been fighting as a lightweight....

Maybe thats worht a little gamble...

I saw Isaac's fight with Nate Campbell- he was just an enormous lightweight, looked like a welter then and his size got him the nod over Nate who pounded Isaac's body but tired out... Hlatswayo had to move up in weight and to this point, he's really unproven above 135.... Jeremy Yelton at 140- who' s that, then Holt absolutely hammered Hlatswayo who did quite well to finish the fight. Maybe Hlatswayo is best at 147 but you'd think he's lost his size advantges and Hlatswayo hasn't done a thing yet at 147 either- Medley??? sounds like quite a limited dude ... I don't think Rodriguez is all that different than Holt, even taller and rangier.... and I think the Feliciano experience was good for him. What Hlatswayo's KO ratio- easily less than 50%. I'll go small at the plus odds- good luck. Too bad we can't watch the fight.

oh man

looks like I'm the lone soldier here on the the South African

as soon as I find a result guys I will post

seeing as its an eliminator and Rodriguez has an American promoter, maybe we can actually get a result called in in the next few hours....

otherwise I guess it's reading the Sowetan Times tomorrow morning.....

"the bunker"
grabbed rodriguez at +135 based on the size issue.....

hlatswayo seemed like a physically strong pressure fighter without a ton of power when i saw him...might be tough to bully the naturally bigger, taller guy who`s comfy carrying the weight....

g.l.....

Rodriguez is a simple fighter, no tricks. Hlatswayo is class above. Even without power, Hlatswayo will probably stop Rodriguez. Easy money :yup

There was a live feed but I just missed it. I got on in time to hear that Issac won but did not get a result.

Some guys in the chat room where saying Delvin deserved it but has a weak chin so I'm assuming it went to points but Delvin got rocked.

Nice win for you!!! :toast:

The venue had to be considered in the wager...Graham nailed this one right on the head. He said in the states rodriguez would be favored but in SA he was leaning towards Hlats. Congrats man!
