There are some early lines at 5dimes:

Larios vs. Oah is a pickem right now.
I watched a clip of Oah and he is nothing special, he got hurt pretty badly by Francisco Dianzo, he moves fairly well but he's not particularly hard to hit. Larios has fought at a much higher level and he still seems to have his punching power. I dont know how he looked in his last 2 fights though?
Anyways, I think Larios might be worth a small bet.

BTW, the fightwriter picks Valdez to beat Hasegawa, or so it seems, but I think thats a relly hard task for him...

this is a tough fight for me to call

I promised myself I would bet against Larios from now on

He has taken bad beatings by Pac and Linares and should no longer be fighting

But I just watched the youtube clips of Aoh, and Zerwas, you are correct.

The kid doesn't look too solid.

My guess is if the kid stays on his feet he gets the decision in Japan.

Good posts guys, that's what I was thinking too. I was looking to bet against Larios by default assuming he'd be a notable fav, but at these lines, Larios looks solid. His attrition is something young guys aren't used to.

A decision will be tough, but browsing through boxrec, he's had 4 fights in Japan, one of them was a KO while he was way ahead on the cards, the other two were wide UDs, all of which came against Japanese fighters. The fourth was an early KO, so it's hard to gauge, but based on those three, it looks like he's been treated fairly. And since this is a title bout, neutral judges are more likely.

edit - I haven't seen the youtube clips yet, but looking at Aoh's record, he's a weak puncher. imo the guy who beats a faded Larios will be strong and grinding, and take advantage of a softened chin and, im going to hell for this, a damaged brain.

I saw Larios against Fedor Veiloria and he really is not the same fighter.

The guy has been in crazy wars.

the question is....is the Japanese kid any better than Viloria was (who Larios finally caught up with).

The world on the kid is the he was a great amateur in Japan, but as you guys stated, he doesn't seem to have much pop.

I wonder if he can keep Larios off of him.

Larios two years ago whups him....now....i'm not so sure.

Dib is trash

My opinion is that Luevano will beat his ass

2 different levels of fighters

Dib got the biggest gift decision I have ever seen last fight against the South African

a disgusting robbery

Santiago did excellent against Luevano due to the fact that Santiago can punch

but Dib is like a poor man's Naseem Hamed...all the antics minus the power

I think the 8 to 1 odds are justified

i concur

Dib is garbage, i saw him live on the undercard of Katsidis-Casa, he was in a fight for his life against not even a journey man fighter, just a local guy

dib's like a the pan-pacific homeless version of a midget roy jones wannabe

luevano can bulldoze this showboating prick

If anyone wants to see this fight there is actually a legal piece of software you can use to watch free to air Japanese network TV.
http://xorsyst.com/japan/watch-japanese-tv-online/

"WBC feather champ Oscar Larios (64-6-1, 40 KOs), 126, barely kept his belt as he came off the canvas from a very bad knockdown in the fourth, and withstood shaky moments to be awarded a highly controversial split decision (114-112, 115-111 and 112-114) over previously unbeaten Japanese southpaw Takahiro Aoh (16-1-1, 8 KOs), 126, over twelve heats on Thursday in Tokyo, Japan. Aoh looked a winner rather than Larios, so the spectators were stunned by the debatable verdict."

Can you say Jose Sulaiman? That fcker appoints the judges for these fights and little doubt in my mind, he had some influence in the scoring. That will certainly be the last chance to cash in on Larios. For his sake he better hang em up or he's going to get seriously hurt.

Seems as though I got lucky, well, I have been on the wrong end of so many close and controversial decisionts this year. :)
Not a big play anyways.

Sorry, to hear that you lost!

Larios really seems to be seriously shot, if he gets knocked down by a Japanese bum.

Aoh may have had home field advantage but all the judges were imported. it sounds like the decsion was quite smelly. Picked his pocket right in his backyard. :mj12:

did joe koizumi write this article?....he`s an extremely nationalistic, partisan guy....

theres nothing wrong with that....but,he always breaks for the asian fighter...

joe koizumi did indeed do the write-up

so who knows what the real take is

I am getting a copy of the fight today

i went back and forth, then went on Aoh at the last moment

I really did (and still do) believe Larios is shot

sounds like the kid faded down the stretch

but i still thought, with a knockdown, in his hometown, the decision would be his

they are talking about Larios fighting Johhny Gonzalez

don't think this is a great idea for Larios' life at this point

i didn`t disgree with the aoh play...i was teetering on the brink from reading the opinions....i always take koizumi with a grain of salt...

and i totally agree....gonzales beats larios like a rented mule....and possible seriously hurts him..

a disaster of a fight for larios...

Still breaking down Saturday

for Friday I look like this:

Parlay Garcia-Oquendo in Puerto Rico MEDIUM
Fuller in Detroit LARGE
Lacierva under 5.5 SMALL

Anyone else think Luevano can get that bum Dib out before 9.5? Most likely a decision, but i think there is quite a class difference. I may take a chance on a Luevano KO.

I played Rubio Ornelas Under 9.5 +175 and Rubio -200, both for 0.75 unit.
I dont know too much about either guy, but Rubio has a very nice ko ratio and Ornelas so far as I ve heard does not have the best chin and conditionning.

I also bet on
Chauke Barrera over 11.5 1.6
Napa over 9.5 1.38
