Vargas over Mosely? That is an interesting pick...I would love to read your analysis on that one if you get the time.

Thanks...

Manfredo-Pemberton on 2/12. Anyone think home cooking might be involved?

Could be but realistically Manfredo has no business at all at 168. He's never fought there to my knowledge and before the contender he fought at 154. Pemberton isn't great but he is a step up from what Manfredo has been fighting. My personal opinion is anyone betting Manfredo as the favorite is making a mistake.

My analysis is...+173

The line was very high imo, has since dropped a tad and might get lower by fight time.

I'm not done betting that fight, so I'll save further analysis for after I make my final plays.

pemberton and manfredo are both hometown stiffs...2 perfect examples of how careful matchmaking and home field advantage can accomplish quite a bit in the boxing world......

neither one has any mobility or footwork...

i didn`t like what i saw of manfedo in the series...he seems ponderous and slow....maybe because he fought smaller, quicker guys...

..and i`m not sure that he takes punishment all that well...considering that all the guys he fought were smaller than him...and none were big punchers to boot...

and mayorga is right...big natural size advantage for pemberton...

the only thing holding me back is the fact that pemberton is baaadddd.....real baadd...and no hometown advantage for the second time in his career...

if i didn`t feel like pemberton was sooo bad,i`d take him as a dog myself...

neither guy`s gonna float like a butterfly, that`s for sure.....

manfredo isn`t a puncher...but,pemberton has been stoped in all 4 losses....

this will either be a war...or a clinchfest...

if i had any balls,i`d take the under at almost 2-1..if i felt sure these guys will fight....

but,i can also see these guys laying all over one another for 10...

It's a shame because those guys could have gone 50 rounds and nobody would be KO'd......

I hear ya

Happens all the time and I usually get screwed out of an easy winner...like last night

Btw...the Manfredo fight will now be tomarrow night due to heavy snow

food for thought on the postponement....and in case you didn`t see the photo...

http://www.fightnews.com/pemb_manf_eh.jpg

i noticed in the weigh in picture that,as mayorga pointed out, pemberton looked MUCH bigger than manfredo...

and someone brought up an excellent point on another boxing forum...that pemberton will have another full day to add on natural weight....

if he had to dry out at all, this has to help him...

i can`t even imagine that there`d be another weigh-in...

i personally think he`s an overrated, slow pug that`s taken way to many punches....

but,he may outweigh manfredo by a substantial margin by monday night...

i wish the guy was a little better...

box`s props make sense...the scary part is that he didn`t seem at all disturbed after getting jack slapped around by lacy for 2 rounds....he seemed pretty satisfied with himself after the fight.....

is he just collecting for retirement?....if things get rough will he lay down?....

something to ponder...

Great point Garden. I picked up the under when it was +160, because I thought it was a good value play. My thinking is that if Pem..is shot, than he'll just be happy with the payday. If he comes to fight, and he looks MUCH bigger than Man...he might be able to take Man out of there.

well, that was ugly....i was worried about pemberton...and he confirmed for us all that he`s really that bad.....i knew he had no shot against lacy..said he was a protected stiff when we discussed that fight ..but a pedestrian guy like manfredo....smaller...not particularly quick or powerful...

pemberton is even worse than i thought...if that`s possible....

he was naturally much bigger...but he`s sooo slow...no defense...and as we`ve seen with some other very protected guys,he`s a mannequin away from his protected hometown....

manfredo...no speedball himself...looked like willie pep in there..

did pemberton land ANY sigmificant shots?....

stopped early...shut out...by a guy that had 10 stoppages fighting as a jr middle and a middle in 24 wins..

a total stiff...i played the props,myself...not believing that manfredo had the power to stop the much bigger guy..

pemberton...the guy`s a joke...
