Dear Boxlocks,

I like your pick on Gammer. Have you seen him fight before? Cause I don't know much about him.

Any thoughts on if we'll see an i-t-d prop on Cotto? Also how many rounds is the fight scheduled for? Thanks.

"the bunker"
i think that green and marquez are technically better than miranda and vasquez......

but......i`ve seen both marquez and green severely hurt and(in marquez` case)actually stopped by smaller/ lesser punchers and fighters than vasquez........marquez is moving up...

marquez, imo,is a much better technician than vasquez...i honestly don`t think that vasquez is better than jhonny gonzales....

for some reason,i`m not a big vasquez fan...jhonny gonzales was literally whipping his ass and vasquez landed one big shot that changed the whole fight....to be fair,i also think that vasquez forced a tougher pace than gonzales liked in that fight and that probably wore down gonzales a bit even though vasquez took most of the early punishment......kudos to vasquez there...smart...it wasn`t a hail mary thing...he legitimately wore down gonzales...but took most of the punishment through most of the fight...his chin and toughness won that fight for him...

and vasquez is used to being in tough fights...

that can happen again...marquez,like his brother, likes to set the pace...usually a deliberate pace.....

i expect marquez to be able to outbox vasquez early.......the problem is that vasquez has a great chin...he may be able to do exactly the same thing he did to gonzales....take an ass-kicking with his chin keeping him in the fight until he lands the big equalizer.... he should try and make marquez work...and hope he can handle marquez power...as he did with gonzales....

one thing different,though...if marquez hurts vasquez as gonzales did,he`s a much better finisher than gonzales.....

better all around fighter?...definitely marquez...

tougher, more resilient guy with the better chin...and maybe the bigger one punch power?...vasquez....

not sure how marquez` power will travel up in weight...just don`t know...

soooo...being that i already caught some marquez at -120,i think taking vasquez at+265 inside the distance is a great hedge....

i can see box taking green at good odds..and the fact that it`s 10 rounds,not 12,helps green,imo....

this is at a catch weight of 162.........green is a bigger guy....he`s fought at lt heavy.....i don`t see the catch-weight helping green...

..given the venue(with miranda having somewhat of a home field advantage)....and miranda`s proven chin,my gut tells me could out-tough green and stop him at some point....

and i can`t get the thought of green almost getting knocked out by some short, white mid-western nobody named donnie mccrary....

if green`s power is as good as we think it might be,and given miranda`s not so great defense,i expect miranda to take some shots....

but, miranda is a very hard guy to stop....

maybe take green at +175.....and then hedge with under 9.5(-150)/parlayed with sobral-460(in the ufc) at better than even money.....and hope box is right on the green play....

off topic/sobral coming off the liddell loss...is very close to being an elite mma fighter, imo...his losses were to valentijn overeem(early career),randleman, feodor, chuck twice and a maj decision loss to dan henderson)...he doesn`t normally lose to just "good" fighters like jason lambert(who`s good...but he`s not sobral)...

obviously,i`m not stepping out...i`m playing cautiously because anything can happen and i could lose both sides of both hedges.....so,having some fun with the "filthy lucre" we garnered the last month or so....

i don`t see how you can step out in either fight...given the potentially explosive nature of the fighters...

really don`t need much action to make these bouts interesting....

if someone has a strong, definitive opinion on these fights,i`d sure love to hear it....

these 2 boxing bouts are potential fight of the year candidates... great fights...but,they also have the potential to end abruptly.....with any of the 4 stopping their opponent....

really good stuff...g.l.

Williams IS IN SHAPE!!!!

Williams IS IN SHAPE!!!!

With his career on the line, former heavyweight title challenger and Mike Tyson-conqueror Danny Williams has weighed in at a shockingly low 228 lbs. for his British heavyweight title challenge against Scott Gammer tonight in Neath, Wales. Williams scaled in 56 lbs. lighter than in his fight against Matt Skelton just last year and he weighed 270 for his title challenge against Vitali Klitschko. Champion Gammer weighed 239.

I don't feel Marquez jr. is as slow a starter as his big brother. They just re-broadcast Marquez-Mabuza. Marquez looked like a heavy handed headhunter. He does good body work also, but he is more aggressive than Manuel. Miranda is a total psycho. I got to run with him here. He is as smooth as sandpaper, but he will give a guy his money's worth. Williams came in at a slim 228lbs. He is my pick now. To sum up; Williams, Vazquez, Miranda.

Hey boys, whats going on?

I see you are doing pretty good without me.

I am interested in the steward vs colin fight.
Colin fought against three good fighters and never made the third round. I like the under. I dont like that steward went the distance against the last two guys he fought. Hamel was knock out before and fast several time.
Good thing is Colin is 19 kos of 21 fights too, so maybe he does the job. i doubt it.
at - 125 i take the under.

What about Page against Mollo. Mollo was never over 6 rounds. Page was in there with very good fighters only getting stopped once. You have to get that guy some respect fighting the big guys with 200 pounds. at +315 he is worth a look.

5dimes special

cotto vs urkal starts round 2 -1200
thats just dumb urkal is old and fighting to high in weight but sure as hell is standing after the first ound. (Cotto has one first round ko in his first fight)

Now i have to find some info on slim and trim Dannys 228. I believe it when i see it.

Anyway as always good luck with your bets.

Very glad to see you Tony...hope all is well

I was looking at that Stewart-Colin Under as well, but decided to lay off due to the reason you gave and the fact that Colin's stoppages were almost 4 years ago and he was only 20 yrs old at the time. No play for me, but I hope you hit it.

Did you see the Miranda-Eastman fight?

Eastman had Miranda out on his feet twice in the 5th round, at the end of the round it looked like Miranda was completely gone, but he was saved by the bell.

Green definitly hits harder than Eastman, and he's much much quicker.

I like the Under here, but I'm not willing to lay the wood, might parlay it with something to bring the odds to evens

Btw, I have a personal play on the Berrio-Stiegletz Under 11.5 -120, won't recommend it as I like the Sylvester Under a little more

well then, this ain`t going the distance...because green was literally out on his feet vs a slow white guy about 6 inches shorter than him......a guy that isn`t known as a puncher....

bothe guys can obviously be hurt....

the only thing that would screw it would be for green to fight smart from the outside....

been alot of smack thrown back and forth....i don`t expect this to be a boxing match...but,you never know....

i hope you`re right,b.l....i stand to do better if green pulls it off....

if this goes to the cards,i`ll be shocked...

i may be looking for some other parlay material with the under...

but, i can think of numerous other fights that looked almost impossible to get to the cards that surprised us....

I hear ya...

Miranda-Abraham, Klitschko-Peters, Lacy-Sheika....just a few examples of fights that I thought had no chance of going the distance. And the Miranda-Abraham fight had just as much bad blood leading up to the fight. I guess thats why I'm not a big fan of laying juice on Unders

From fightnews...

Colin edges Stewart!
Super lightweight Enrique Colin (16-3-3, 14 KOs) pounded out a hard fought ten round majority decision over local favorite Mike "No Joke" Stewart (41-6-2, 23 KOs) on Friday night at the New Alhambra in Phialdelphia, PA. Scores were 96-94, 96-94, 95-95.

Unbeaten Olympian bantamweight Abner Mares (11-0, 7 KOs) defeated Robert Allanic (14-5, 7 KOs) by eighth round TKO after the ring doctor ruled Allanic could not come out for round nine.
