I took the over on ruiz/Mccline -310 9 1/2.
I can see the big guy possibly going after Ruiz early but Ruiz is one tough fighter to get out of there. McCline can't sustain an attack very long so I like the chances of this going 10. I don't see Ruiz getting Big Time out of there at all. Barring an injury I think it's a fairly safe bet despite being -310.

Like I called you once before- Romi is the Over King!

McCline is scared and sweating bullets. Just look at his armpits! :mj07:

Ruiz was a great bet last night at -125, now he's -210, congrats to anyone who played him on time.

I'm waiting till the weekly lines come out before posting my thread, but I agree completely on the Over. Played it straight at -300 and parlayed it with a few things down the road.

The only thing that worries me is McCline's stamina, he's always had problems with it and he's not getting any younger. If he was fighting anyone but Ruiz I wouldn't lay the wood, but these guys will do more hugging than punching so I feel safe.

The 10 rounds definitly benefits McCline, I'll be posting a small play on him at +165. But the Over is my cash cow here and I'll be milking it for all its worth

I agree I'm on the over too.

A 10 round fight would most certainly increase McCline chances.
boxrec, bwin and some others have this as a 12 rounder....

Anybody know for sure if this is a 12 or 12 rounder!?

Since the fight is an eliminator- WBC, it really should be a 12 rounder, and that's a big deal with McCline being the fader.

Taking Ruiz hinges on that extra 2 rds. I think he'll have to play catch up and those extra 2rds could be crucial. If it's for 10 rds, I think the draw has value.

Man i can't wait for this fight. I bought 155 yellow hankees to throw at the televison for all the holding Ruiz does. Think i shorted myself but the store only had 156 and an old lady wanted the other one.

Thanks and no problem

I have Mashaba in a couple personal parlays and was leaning the Over but couldn't pull the trigger. Cruz hasn't been stopped in a long time but other than Jorge Solis he hasn't fought anyone who can punch in a long time. Honorio stopped him in the 1st and some other dude got to him earlier in his career. Mashaba's not a huge puncher but he can crack a little, maybe just enough. The 11.5 line has moved all over the place since it opened, somebody must like the Under so I stayed away.

The cruz upset screwed up a good night. I made 300 on the over but lost 5 on mash...didnt see it but appears as though mash may have gotten ripped off.

Wow, none of the books gave Cruz a chance, mostly around +600 or more.

Fightwriter only gave Cruz as +350, Ive benefited from playing big discrepancies in the past, but didn't this time. Shame on me. I'll post notable discrepancies in the future.

btw thanks for the over play Romi, the 'Over King' moniker is fitting.

Adding McCline small +191, im hoping 5d adds more props to this fight. I see McCline gassing out late and giving up a close decision, but it's worth a play at that line.

I watched the fight...perhaps a bit of a rip off, it's just that Cruz's punch output was ridiculous- easily compubox record 1580 punches thrown in a 12 round fight and he finally hurt Mashaba in the 12th round and tried to finish him, but Mashaba's engine was excellent also and came forward in the 12th after getting hurt. Mashaba was landing the cleaner , more effective blows, tons of shots. Cruz showed ridiculous heart, there was a point around 9th, Teddy Atlas was talking about Cruz's corner needing to take a good look at him- lots of blood from the mouth. Cruz kept finding another gear after it looked like he was done and Mashaba's no slouch in the stamina dept and finally got tired around the 10th, Cruz to his credit was diggin body all night. Probably 7 rounds to 5 or 8-4 Mashaba. The judges went for punch volume, heart, and Mashaba staggered in the 12th didn't help.

I lost 2 hund net but really not sweating it. I had contemplated a big wager on Mash but held off due to Cruz just being a tough SOB w/good fighters. I know Raheem nearly shut him out but Mash is a different style that kind of caters to Cruz'in your face style. Sounds like it was a good fight. Most thought Mash won but it also looks like many gave him credit for the high volume. I "should" get it back w/the Ruiz over.

Thanks Romi, this isn't typically my type of play. your post made me think about it a little and I agreed so I bet it pretty decently.
