I don't typically bet on heavy favorites (although I took Trinidad last week) but I think there is some value in taking Arturo Gatti at -220 vs. Mickey Ward this weekend. At 35, Ward is a tenacious but none too threatening opponent who will have a long night ahead of him against the hard punching Gatti. Gatti may have a tough time knocking Ward out but he will definitely be the more dominant fighter.

gatti is the superior fighter(especially since trainer buddy mcgirt has gatti using his natural boxing ability instead of slugging it out)....but,gatti can easily be lured back into his old brawling tactics as it is obvious ward will try to turn the fight into a brawl.....and most importantly,it is vary dangerous to take a bleeder(and a guy who lumps up easily)as a prohibitive favorite....i think gatti wins, but,he`s probably gonna get cut in this fight, and that could be costly....i`ll pass and make a nice big play on rahman to easily handle an old, delusional holifield who can`t seem to see how far he has slipped....this one`s a bag shot...still hoping less than knowledgeable boxing fans will drive the odds on rahman down due to holifield`s name recognition....also taking a very small play on underdog ben tackie vs the great kostys tszyu....strictly on the hope that tszyu is still basking in his win over zab judah....don`t think i`ll win this bet, but,at 5-1 odds, and tackie coming in hot and on a roll, will take a flyer...tackie is relentless and gets stronger in the later rounds and am hoping tszyu not taking this one as seriously as he should(hoping for another vince phillips type of fight).not likely, but,a very small wager with a decent payoff if we get lucky.gl.
