5Dimes has this lined at 9.5 UNDER-155. Ruiz extended Briggs the full 12. That was over 3 years ago. He takes off for around 2.5 years and comes back to win a TKO over one Rodney Moore, and absolute horror. I see mucho ring rust and I question commitment and the will to win a tough struggle. Why is this guy still in the fight game? Dawson has Floyd Sr. training him. He has been staying busy. He will be fighting in his backyard. Ruiz will be pureed surely; just a matter of when. I'll run with the UNDER 9.5-155 here.

why would you even think about a under in this fight.

I know Ruiz well, but do not know Dawson.

Unless Dawson is one awesome puncher with like
80% knockouts, he will never get Ruiz out of there in 9.5

Ruiz will cover up and run like he always does.

Ruiz is not capable of knocking out anyone but a real cupcake.

Is Dawson a cupcake ?

Dawson isn't a cup cake. Ruiz has a strange track record. When a guy feels he has to fight a total mutt(Rodney Moore), to get a W, I have to wonder. Also, how committed is a guy with such long layoffs? You may be right. He may play catch me, f**k me all nite. Ruiz doesn't strike me as a serious guy. Boxing seems like a hobby to him. Dawson has plans to get somewhere in this sport. And I am not as familiar with Ruiz as you are. You may know something I don't.

ALERT!!!!!

ALERT!!!!!

I am modifying this wager. It is now Dawson-INSIDE-223. I just can't see how Ruiz will be able to last 12 rounds, assuming Dawson wins of course. I feel the extra juice is worth the extra rounds. I see a corner/ref stoppage.

to be honest i dont believe this is a smart bet.
this guy was never koed maybe even never knocked down and he has fought a hard hitting guy in briggs.
now i believe that Dawson wants to impress and will try to knock him out but he is not hardest puncher himself.
Maybe you have more infomartion like training mind set etc but i like the under in cotto/judah at even money more than dawson inside -220.

At least i would put this thing in a parlay.

under bets at this numbers with a guy who was never down are a bitch.

But what do i know maybe this ruiz guy comes out swinging and Dawson takes him out early.

i am not invested in this one so best of luck to you.

Thanks tony for the input, but you hit the nail; Ruiz by his own admission says he comes out swinging. He has fought 1 round in the last 39 months. At this point in his "career", not the Ruiz of 3 years ago, can he last 12 rounds? Does he even want to? Well, I am committed. We'll see.

Its a possibility. But he has trained two hard month for this fight so no last minute replacement and he has keep in shape during his break.

I dont know but these mexican guys are not so good a taking dive. I just saw a 13-16 jetlaged mexican whup Matt Zegans ass in Poland and gettin the dec (thats the real surprise for me, heads off to the judges)

But the good thing for you is Dawson is out there to please he wants to look impressive.

But mexicans are crazy, Andrade was taking one hell of a beating but he never ever stopped trying in his fight with Kessler.

Ruiz lost by tko to Julio Gonzalez but I'm not sure if it was on cuts or not

Fightwriter says Ruiz was overpowered by Gonzalez

Anyone know if cuts were involved?

Scarface, one of my top criteria when attempting to guage a fighter, is his track record/quality of opposition, also taking into account his activity or lack thereof. Ruiz failed on both counts.
