Where are you getting -120. I've seen by decision at -135 or so

I played Malignaggi straight at -120 when it opened at 5dimes a few weeks ago, posted the play in my futures right afterwards but the line jumped to -150 and then -200 very fast. As posted in last weeks thread, I plan on scalping the play at +210, will put enough on N'dou to cover the potential loss, setting up the profits on a Malignaggi win...risk free.

Paulie by decision at even money is basically the same as Paulie straight, he won't stop N'dou unless there's a cut or injury.

Thanks

Next week we have Hatton-Castillo, I recall you saying that Hatton is not a great fighter. Does that mean you're taking the +170 on a great fighter in Castillo?

Box to be honest im not sure i ever saw Castillo fight so i can't bet on it. I was to wrapped up when he had his fights in a business venture. Is he the one who fought in the fight they say was the best ever? Or fight of the year with Corrales? Im gonna go look him up now. I will watch this fight tho but like i said i havent been impressed with anything i have seen from Hatton but again i didn't see the Hatton Kosta fight. Maybe this week HBO will run some of his fights so i can see what i want to do.

I don't think he is a great fighter either but i don't think this fight should be anything close to these odds. It to me should at least be even. This article does bother me cause it seems everytime i see a fighter say what is in this article, they always lose. Its funny but i think he says the same thing i said to you about an aging Kosta and you blasted me lol. Here is the article.

CASTILLO DISMISSES HATTON RECORD
E-mail Article Print-Friendly Subscribe to RSS Feed
Post to del.icio.us

Jose Luis Castillo has belittled Ricky Hatton's unbeaten record and vowed to bring it to an end when the pair meet on June 23 to contest the IBO light-welterweight title.

The 'Hitman' has an impressive 42-0 record but Castillo insists he is not intimidated by the numbers and believes the 28-year-old Mancunian has not faced enough big names.

An ageing Kostya Tszyu, who Hatton beat in 11 rounds in front of a hometown crowd two years ago, remains his biggest scalp - and Mexican legend Castillo has vowed he will not to be added to that list at the Thomas and Mack Centre in Las Vegas.

"I don't think for one minute Ricky Hatton's record bears any comparison with mine. He fought Tszyu when Kostya was on the way down and even then Ricky had home advantage," he said.

"I have fought and beaten some of the best fighters in the world whereas Hatton hasn't got names like Diego Corrales, Floyd Mayweather or Joel Casamayor on his record.

"He is 42-0 but things like unbeaten records can be very misleading. I am not bothered about his unbeaten record. It will end on June 23."

Nevertheless, Castillo conceded that Hatton was a tough proposition and has trained harder than ever before for the bout.

"Hatton is a good, strong fighter, but I am going to knock him out and I am then going to get my revenge on Mayweather.

"I started in the gym 12 weeks ago and I have never worked this hard for any fight. It will be the best Jose Luis Castillo the world has ever seen.

"I cannot wait. It is like a new beginning for me. My last fight (against Herman Ngoudjo) was just a warm-up. This is the real thing," he added.

"I need the motivation of facing someone like Hatton to get the best out of me. I have been in a lot of big wars and I need the best opponents to make me fight at my best. When I lost to Diego Corrales the first time, I regrouped and beat him easily when we met again.

"But those fights showed I have the heart of a lion and that will come to the fore again on June 23. Hatton will have never seen anything like me."

Castillo said: "I have best upper cut in the division and I will use it against Hatton. Ricky is used to slow, cumbersome fighters, but I have real hand speed and that will cut him down.

"Hatton is there to be beaten and I know I am going to be the first boxer to do it. My trainer told me he has never seen me any better in the sparring I have done. That is a warning to Hatton and he should know that on June 23 it will be a war.

"I am going to win that war

Box i might make a play on him. I sure as heck won't go with Hatton. Just hope it is a fight and not a holding fest.

Hatton's holding in his last fight here in Vegas was disgusting and the ref is to blame also for not getting involved. It was one punch and hold for 6 rounds after Hatton got hit hard to the body.

I'm pretty sure you'll see plenty of hugs from Hatton. Castillo is/was a great fighter, some thought he beat FMayweather in their first encounter. But I'm concerned about the tread on the tires, so to speak. Castillo depended a lot on his size/strength advantage at 135 which he doesn't have here. Hatton is a very strong 140 pounder and Castillo is likely to struggle to make that weight. Here's to hoping Castillo has one great last fight in him and whip the fraud that is Hatton. Hatton's career has been managed perfectly. Tsyzu was 35 and now Castillo is mid 30's and past his best weight class.

Punch i think his last three fights (or possible two) were a hold fest. Your thoughts are basically the same thing i think. I wish i saw the Mayweather fight because for people to think he might have won makes me think there is no way he should lose this fight. One thing i do worry about and i know this might piss people off is one of those quick stoppages where Hatton has him on the ropes banging away and they stop it in like the last Manfredo fight. I just can't see anyone taking Hatton in this fight at this ridiculous price. I wonder if Tsyzu even took that fight seriously. Didn't he retire after that?

This fight is hosted by Top Rank who is Castillo's promoter. Ricky usually fights under his own promoter which is why he gets away with his holding. Not this time...Castillo/Arum will warn the ref of Hatton's tactics, not that they need to.

Well as far as thinking no way JLC should lose this fight because of how he did in Mywthr 1, that was back in Castillo's prime and against a completely different style and you know the tried and true cliche, styles make fights. Don't worry about the quick stoppage since the fight isn't in Europe. Tsyzu took the fight seriously, it's just that he was almost 36 years old, had fought once a year for 3 years after shoulder surgery and Hatton hit and wrestled the fukk out of him and smashed him with one of the nastiest low blows I've seen. The time and location of that fight was set up perfectly for the carefully managed Brit. And the Hatton camp darn well knows he's getting another mid 30's guy past his best weight class.

Anyone get on Thursday night Versus network fights. Didn't have time to post, my one year old prodigy son took priority. I'd seen Huerta go a few times and knew he was a tough as so the over 8.5 +130 was sweet to me. Then I threw some down on Huerta at +800 and he was robbed BLIND. Kid Diamond won no more than 4 rounds and was floored in the 11th. Poor Huerta. I love Top Rank, but boy do they have some pull with the judges, 2 who ought to be banned.

You made a smart bet. Too bad this is boxing as usual.

that is why it is tough to bet this stuff. You do all the handicapping and get robbed like this. You basically have to hope your fighter knocks the guy out. You just watch how when the UFC is in Vegas we are gonna start getting these type of decision. thank goodness they usually end before the judges can be a factor.

Punch I just think Hatton is very overatted and the mayweather comment was basically said in jest. I just don't think he has much talent and reminds me of the hype that Joe Mesa was getting. I was all excited to see Mesa first fight because of the hype and i couldn't believe my eyes at what i was seeing. I thought he was awful. Im not even sure what happen to him. Hatton lost two fights ago and the other fighter got robbed. I guess we will see.
