Diaz fight was rescheduled for 12 rounds, so instead of Diaz winning a 10 round decision and cashing in my +113 ticket...the wager is refunded as Diaz won by 12 round decision

Another winner down the drain...at +113

Implying that you don't think Winky can knock out Taylor, but if it goes to the cards you like Winky's chances?

By Ant Evans: Defending World Middleweight Champion Jermain Taylor cut a menacing figure as he weighed in at 160lbs in Memphis Friday afternoon. The champ's body looked as though composed of twisted steel and there was a razor sharp air of confidence about him.

Meanwhile challenger Ronald 'Winky' Wright, who scaled 159.2lbs, also looked composed but some neutral observers believed they detected something in Wright's demeanour which suggested he is not as confident than the champion.

Taylor's promoter, Lou DiBella, has a theory as to why.

He explained that actual weigh-in took place at 1:30pm in the fight hotel and the 'public' weigh-in on Memphis's famous Beale Street at 5:00pm was purely for promotional purposes.

And DiBella said: "I don't know what they weighed in at 5 o'clock but it was obvious to everyone that Jermain was MUCH bigger than Wright was already. Winky is going to know what it is to fight a legitimate middleweight tomorrow night."

DiBella also noted that a lot of observers (and you can include this one) who originally selected Wright to win were now pluming for the champion. Again, DiBella was forthcoming with an explanation.

"They probably realised they were wrong in the first place," he joked. "But people saw last week when (Bernard) Hopkins literally beat the snot out of Antonio Tarver that Jermain didn't beat a shot Hopkins.

"People underestimated just how great a fighter Jermain beat in those two fights last year. They were two great performances by Jermain to beat Hopkins, they just weren't great fights."

I won't get any credit if Taylor wins b/c of the very early wager at a great #. And I refuse to post a play on a guy at -130 when half of my cash is booked at +140.

However...its becoming very clear to me that Taylor's size, youth, power, and talent will be too much for the more skilled and more tech sound Wright. Taylor has a substancial height, reach, weight, and age advantage here.

Lets just say my play on Wright by decison is now a hedge with Taylor straight-up as the main play.

KOD

Height and natural weight have always played a huge role in my decision making, which is why most of my money is wagered after the weigh-ins.

After looking at several pictures and video's, and reading several reports from writers who were at the weigh-in, its now very clear that Taylor's 2" height advantage is closer to 3" and he will be the much bigger man by tonight.

I assumed all this to be true prior to the weigh-in, but now that I know for sure, the final bets can be made.

Don't Forget

Don't Forget

Bet365 will be offering live betting on the fight tonight

Btw, CaribSports still has Taylor at -130, I think you'll see Wright higher than +130 by fight time, for you scalpers out there. And 5dimes still has Wright by decision at +175 for you hedgers, can't see Wright stopping Taylor.

emanuel stewart must be sniffing glue....

all he has to say is 5 words to taylor and the fight`s in the bag.....

STAY OFF THE ****ING ROPES...

based on this fight, stewarts a fraud....he must be blind....

one of the most inept corner jobs i`ve seen since rahman vs ruiz....

abominable...

"the bunker"
i think most are tickled shitless with the draw......

probably a good thing that taylor didn`t get the decision(saves us from a big cloud of "franks/scott k.o.d. smug" descending on the forum....lol)...

of course, you guys know i`m kidding...i also had taylor....along with the draw.....

i thought that if taylor had moved just a little...and made winky constantly reset that wide stance time and again,he would have built up a comfortable lead....

and stayed off the ropes.....i`m surprised that somebody at ringside....with money on taylor....didn`t pull a cynthia mckinney on stewart.....

i now realize that the winky stance...is the key to his success...a righty has real troble getting his feet set while being close enough to winky to do damage.....that right foot(no place for a righty to plant his lead foot)...along with the peek-a-boo defense......tough to handle...

but he(taylor) kept moving straight back until he hit the ropes...and then, most times, waited for winky to get off multi-punch combos....you move straight back and winky hits you...alot...

i didn`t hear a peep from stewart about staying off the ropes until very late in the fight.....

first time in many moons since i was literallly screaming at the t.v....

as it stood,i thought taylor was totally gassed in the last 2 rounds and that winky could have certainly salted away the win....

i thought that for the most part, winky controlled the ring and dictated the pace of the fight....

why he fell asleep in the last few rounds...while clearly having more in the tank than taylor.....is anybody`s guess.....

it was very close...taylor was flashier...winky more consistent...

better fight than i thought it would be...

shades of dlh/trindad...

got to say thanks...

got to say thanks...

bl,

played the draw when you posted it as a future. got to say thanks for the play and I will admit that I am embarassed that the texas judge gave the 12th to Winky for dancing as he did. granted, I made more money on the draw, but I would have liked to see taylor work a little more to win the 12th and get the decision.

as always, thanks for the insight and thanks for posting your picks as you do.
