I caught a very nice scalp tonight on Garcia-Messi.

Pinnacle had Garcia at -860 and 5dimes had Messi at +1250 setting up a nice profit on both sides.

I got that scalp as well. Unfortunantely 5dimes limit was only $250 but god enough anyways.

Also, the Dominguez over is an obvious bad line. Any bets on it will likely get cancelled. I'd be shocked if it wasn't a bad line.

They just flipped the line, I imagine the next step will be to refund my account, but I hope not. Let it ride pinny.

I knew it was probably a flipped line, but after Kyowa opened +180 last week, you never know. Gotta hit it and hope.

the moli/dominguez over was nice....i doubt that it will stand...

i wonder if moli has a half a shot here....fighting in his hometown of cordoba....

if boxrec is correct, moli is 6`4" tall and dominguez is around 5`9"?....almost 3-1....

So far, I've put medium bets on:

McCall to win outright
Rahman/Barrett over of 9.5
Mayorga/Pic under of 8.5

I won on last nights Diaz fight with the under

I like Gonz to beat Coll myself........

Care to elaborate?

Gonz looked absolutely horrible against Spinks, Collazo is a very skilled southpaw just like Cory and he's a fresh 24 years old coming off a great performance against Rivera in which he took the title in his opponents backyard.

Both guys are King fighters but Gonz at 34 looking 40 is definitely on the way out. Collazo ison the way up and will be Kings cash cow for a long time. All of Kings influence will be on the younger, better, fighter with more potential to win down the road.

Just my opinion, I've been waiting for this line to come out for awhile now and played it very big personally.

gl on your plays

I love Camarena at only -400 over Padilla

Padilla is a 4 round fighter ! how did this fight get made ?
I saw Padilla lose a 4 rounder on ESPN 2 last year. He didn't look very good. I saw Camarena vs Payne, and he won a 12 rounder.

laying 2 units to win .5

put .25 to win .1 on Rahman at -250
put .15 on Camarena/Padilla under 9.5 +250 to win .37
Tapia +375 over Alvarez .1 unit to win .37
these are nothing I am sure of. but I feel they are okay.

good luck.
Collazo is Spinks, similiar. He should beat MA Gonzalez, even though MAG shows up to win and gives his all. He just isn't very fast.

Glad you posted Spread

We are on the same page this weekend

I sent MF an e-mail last night telling him I had small personal plays on Tapia +385 and the Camarena under 9.5 +345. I was going to leave them as personal plays but since you like them also I'll add 'em to the list.

I thought you were on McCall, did you reconsider?

Quotes from East Side Boxing...

LUIS COLLAZO, WBA "regular" Welterweight champ: ?I feel great and I am like a caged tiger, I can?t wait until the fight takes place. I am excited to perform in front of so many people. I fell like this is my own concert.

?I will give Gonzalez a boxing clinic, I will look for all the possible opening to break him down.

?My training camp went great, I spent two months in Atlanta and the more time I put in the more confidence I got, I am in great shape and I am very excited to defend my welterweight title for the first time.

?Gonzalez was a great champion, I can?t take nothing away from him but it?s my time.

MIGUEL ANGEL GONZALEZ: ?This fight is my final test. If I don?t beat Collazo then I am out of boxing for good. I have done a lot in my career. I have defended my titles 10 times, I have fought the best in my category but I want to see if I am still capable.

?Collazo is a young kid but he never faced a quality opponent like me. He is ten years younger than me, people think that he is young and too strong for me, but they way I see it is that he doesn?t have all those years of experience.

?This fight is for all my Mexican fans, the people that remember me when I was champion and want to see me on the top of the sport again.

I see what your saying and agree with it for the most part. However, I don't think Collazo has really beaten anyone, or even fought anyone for that matter worth note. The few people he's fought with a winning record, he's won close decisons on. On top of all of it, I'm not a big fan of his either. That might make me a little biased towards him wanting to lose. I'm not going to make a big play on it, just a small wager........

I guess you haven't heard of Jose Antonio Rivera who went into Germany and took the WBA title from Trabant.
As you know, winning a decision in Germany is not easy, Jose took the title home by majority decision.

Collazo took the title from him in Rivera's hometown.

I watched Spinks beat the sh*t out of Gonzales for 12 rounds. I had the over in that fight BIG b/c I thought Gonzalez had enough left in him to go the distance with the light punching Spinks. I had to pace, sweat, and pound beers for the last 6 rounds while the no-punching Spinks beat the sh*t out Gonzalez and almost stopped him several times. Spinks landed at will on Gonz, it was a total mismatch, I was very lucky to cash in that over.

I can't see why this fight would be any different

MA gonzalez hasn't done much lately in his career either, if you are saying Collazo has done nothing. the only reason MAG is fighting is because he is Don King's fighter. That's the only reason he got the Spinks fight. Not saying Collazo is great, but this is an easy match for him.

Am I going away from McCall ? I did not put anything on it. I still think McCall will win. I decided not to play much this week, that's all.

boxlocks, I picked up an Edwin Valero fight, his kayo 1 over Abraham 3 months ago. That guy is all action, but didn't rush to get the kayo. I'm sure he doesn't care much about the streak, just likes to fight. He did have long hair though. haven't seen a fighter with long hair in a while, the girls must like it. lol

"the bunker"
i was trying to find something obscure to hitch my wagon to....

how about alex garcia getting rid of lucca brazzi...err or messi(lucca brazzi was in the godfather,lol)....

messi usually fights in italy ....has been stopped 3 times in 5 losses....fought 6 rounders in 3 of his last 4 fights....

wtf is this guy doing here?

under 6.5 was only around -130 when i took it....

garcia isn`t the fastest starter in the world, but i don`t think that messi`s rhoshi wells or travis simms......

all 24 wins by k.o for garcia........the question is,will it take him longer than the middle of the 7th?....

based on background,i don`t think it`s a stretch to think that garcia has a shot of disposing on this guy by the middle of the fight....

If I could get -130 on the under 6.5 right now I'd play it for sure. Still thinking about it at -179.

Garcia is a legit 154 pounder, actually fought at 160 earlier in his career. Messi on the other hand has fought mostly at 147 and didn't move up to 154 untill last year. At 30 years old I dought he naturally outgrew the weight class.

As you mentioned, Messi has been stopped 3 times in 5 losses. Those stoppages were against light punchers at 147 lbs, Garcia is a huge puncher at 154 and will be the much bigger guy here.

Garcia will stop him for sure, the question is...when. I think it will happen early as Messi is way out of his league here. The only problem is, I hate laying wood on unders, esp at 6.5 rounds. Messi could hold and clinch the entire fight and screw us.

I scalped this fight with a decent profit on both sides, so I will probably just take the easy money and leave the total alone. But I really like the under here...hmm.

"the bunker"
a boxing attorney acquaintance of mine has a take on luis collazo.....but,he did represent him so he may be a tad biased....

""Luis Collazo is from my neck of the woods and is trained by the underrated Nirmal Lorick. Nirmal has developed some damn good young fighters down at Sterret City Gym - Collazo, Travis Simms, Dmitriy Salita, Jaidon Codrington, Curtis Stevens - not bad for a little gym in Brooklyn.

Believe it or not, Frank Warren nearly had Collazo signed back when Warren still had ShoBox dates. Warren had missed out on signing Kermit Cintron (Cintron signed with Main Events after Warren had put him on two ShoBox dates) and wanted to sign Collazo in order to have a guy that could beat Cintron. (At the time, I represented both Cintron and Collazo - lol). We negotiated a deal with Warren - all Collazo had to do was win on ShoBox. Of course, Collazo got stopped in three rounds by Edwin Cassiani and Warren never signed him. Collazo ended up signing with DKP - not my doing - but it's definitely worked out for him.

Collazo is a hard working southpaw with solid boxing skills. Sort of a poor man's Cory Spinks, but he does tend to trade a little more than Cory so he makes for more exciting fights. He's a solid fighter but Urkal would give him all he could handle. I get the feeling though, that if Vivian Harris could handle Urkal twice, then Collazo probably could too."""

he obviously thinks he`ll beat gonzales...

i used to think gonzales was the shit way back when.....that tszyu beating basically ended his career as a serious contender....

this looks like another bad style match-up for him vs "slick"...not to mention the lefty aspect...
