Seems this is the consolation bout since Guerrero had an injury. Fight takes place in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Maidana lives in Buenos Aires. Hmmm. Maidana was training for a super tuff fight with Guerrero. Pertoz's last 3 fights were 6-8-6 rounds respectively. This is a 12 round world light welterweight title fight. Petroz however did win his last 3 in a row. Most noteworthy was versus Moises Castro who was 27-15-4 and lost his last 6 in a row. Petroz KO'd him in the 4th of a scheduled 6 rounder. I wonder why Maidana's team is taking such a risk puting him in this tough:mj07: . I make Maidana a -1500 chalk. Take Maidana inside or won't go prop.

Round prop 6.5 over -150. This Petroz guy is in for a beating big time. Question is just when Maidana wants to administer it. Maidana has gone 12 tough rounds more than once. Petroz has never been in the lion's den till now. Will Maidana carry him to give the fans their moneys worth, or just dismantle this guy straight away? I think I'll wait to see if the over is bet up, and play the under getting odds. Maidana has killer instinct and he may just say enough after about 5 rounds. I hope anyway.

ESCOBEDO-JUAREZ U9.5 +300 (single pop)

ESCOBEDO INSIDE DISTANCE +550 (half pop)

Rocky has not won in 3 years and has only won 3 times in the last half decade. Got knocked down by Linares two back and a prospect last out. Now facing a guy who will have all the tactical advantages (huge height and reach) and better pop than might look on paper.

Hate to say it but Juarez is like a turd that won't flush. He just keeps hanging around round after round.

Rocky had Escobedo on double queer street with that hook at the end of the 6th or 7th. If he had any more time at all he would have had a KO win. But Rocky a hard luck guy. He broke Barrera's face in their 1st fight, he was running down Chris John but just didn't finish. Such a likeable guy, always hoped he'd win a belt. Tough as nails, power but just too methodical. Almost backed him here but sat it out figuring it would be another close but no cigar type fight.

Steve Kim calls Rocky the "Susan Lucci" of boxing in that he, like Lucci, almost wins an emmy/belt. Never does, but just close, real close.
