If anyone is coming in, I've got 2 extra $25 seats for this. Couple of folks could not make it. I just want what I paid. And you the get the added bonus of sharing my company! Anyway, this match-up should be the main event. Line here was Guerrero +110, -130 back at Mandalay. Now it's even/-120. I really don't see this as anything but a pick-em. I do see a knock down happening at some point though!

Possible titles at stake...news flash....

Possible titles at stake...news flash....

It has been reported that this fight may be an interim bout for the WBO/WBA lightweight titles held by Marquez. Woo-hoo!!! Now if that's the case this is definitely the main event regardless of what anyone says. Fireworks ain't just for the 4th.:00hour

Should be a great fight Frank.

Thanks for posting the odds - first I've heard actually.

Imagine that - Vegas actually set a boxing line for once. Amazing.

Enjoy the show !

Both fighters sound ready to rumble (conference call was today).

James Kirkland was on the conference call as well - I guess that means he is on the card. GBP is fast tracking this cat.

Odds

Yea, I checked every net sports book I could to no avail. The show looked like a bust after Winky Wright bailed out. And how this is PPV amazes me. I mean, I see Morales getting punished, but no bet for me there. I go down to Mandalay once a week to check the line. I thought it might spike after it was mentioned it could be for 2 belts, but no. Two very motivated guys coming to fight. What's better? Hope you don't mind a separate thread, but I am excited about this one!http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/more-on-guerrero-katsidis-79275

Addition to card

Addition to card

Paulie Malignaggi was added to the card. Not sure if that improves it or not! Well at least we get to see more action for our $25. And more ring card chicks!

Guerrero-Katsidis line update

Guerrero-Katsidis line update

As of 2pm today, 3/29/2011, line is -110 each, a pick-em as I suspected it should be. This is at the MGM-Mandalay group of properties. Haven't seen a line any place else; doesn't mean there isn't one. No line on Malignaggi-Cotto.

Betting lines in TJ.

Betting lines in TJ.

Thongster-I actually never made a sports bet in TJ. Is it worth a 4 hour drive? I mean are the lines soooo good and how much will they take from a gringo? Is there anyway to see this stuff on-line? Also wonder if it's worth investigating for scalp purposes. A lot of questions, but I am a noob when it comes to their action, except, the bars of course! I think the name is Adelita's. Not sure if I spelled it correctly, but the mama's are hot and juicy.

since you're in vegas, i don't think it's worth it for you to drive eight hours roundtrip unless you have some 20 year old hottie over there waiting for you or unless you have a coke/hooker habit :mj07: but you can get that shit in vegas but at a much steeper premium...

well maybe you should go tj a few times a year just to kick it...:0074 let me know if you do :0008

it's worth it for me cuz it's only 4 hours total for me, i have a passport, and it's now a pain in the ass to get money into offshore accounts with western union fees and waiting to cash out

i like to go into this one casino inside a hotel, there's real roulette and a sportsbook right there. they have "eye candy" girls at the video blackjack. i like looking at their asses in between fights.

there were bj penn-jon fitch odds, but not the brandon rios-acosta fight line on that same night

they had anderson silva -160 over vitor belfort, nonito -150 over montiel... they had manny pac -200 over margarito, the tj people bet their boy BONKERS, so expect them to bet el terrible like mad

oh yeah, if it's a boxing match and a draw, YOU LOSE  unless you hedge on the draw, and you get taxed 4% on winnings, but if you're winning most of your bets, it's all good

i used to love going to vegas but i don't have the muster to drive 4 hours there and back, and i've been priced out of most of the fights :nono: why should i sit in nose bleed when i can watch on high def view for free?

tijuana is my new sin city :SIB it's safer now after the arellano-felix cartel got whittled down

i haven't been to adelitas or those type of bars yet.. :mj07: i don't want to be touching door handles and tables tops with some dudes jizz on it you know...

this is the caliente books online site to check odds:

Thanks for the colorful reply! For the record, I don't do coke/hose monsters. I meet this crazy dude from Cali at a big fight at the MGM a while back. He drives down to TJ and goes to the aforementioned drinking establishment and he says I should check it out. But I haven't been back since they were killing all the cops down there. Morales is going to get put to sleep, so I would'nt worry about the draw possibility. I also hope the cut Katsidis sustained during training is still ripe. No doubt the Guerrero camp will target it.

Hey Franky Baby, I see you noticed there hasn't been one offshore line posted for this bout ( whereas offshore still has lines on Wright- Macklin, long ago cancelled.) Did you also notice that offshore has been making it quite tough on boxing bettors , often putting out lines on Friday, the day of, or even hours before ? Some folks on here do well, easily generating 5 figures annually & sort of count on that money & let's be honest , it's the sharps versus the oddsmaker(s) in our own little battle & there you are with verbal diarrhea , spewing off detailed info before an offshore line or prop bet is even dropped, siding with the opposition ya frigen jackoff. To the fine poster who referred to me as diplomatic in these matters, my apologies.

Posting Vegas lines-response to punch-dick-master

Posting Vegas lines-response to punch-dick-master

Punchmaster's insolent post is so absurd I don't know where to start!!! Does anyone in their right mind think a line isn't posted because of this thread? This happens often with certain fights and has for years. It even happens here in Vegas at properties that are hosting the damn fights! On one hand I got ghost kid thanking me for posting a line where none was anywhere to be found, and then I have a disrespectful sarcastic dick being, well, a DICK. But what else is new. If the consensus of the crew here says don't post, I won't, going forward. But really, if anyone thinks the major off-shores don't know that a sports book in Vegas has posted a line that they haven't, for whatever reason, they are truly delusional. They have spies everywhere and get info at the drop of a hat. There is a way to pay for actual Vegas lines in real time. You think they don't do this??? Get real ,dick-head-master!!!

i understand about discussing fights before they`re lined.....it`s been discussed on here before.. ..but i`m trying to figure out what frank said that would actually be considered "hot news" that somebody like joey might not be aware of......the cut?...

it`s discussed at eastside, boxingscene and a bunch of other places....and if we`re talking sharps betting big money on fights(lol),then i`m sure they`ve read up on the situation before throwing big money down......that is if they`ve got two working neurons to rub together...

punch, you come in here once in a blue moon spewing invective around for no good reason ...and more than a few times....

boxlocks got sick of it and walked...

you apparently have a hair the size of the louisiana purchase up your ass...

AFTER THE LINES ARE POSTED,how`s about posting a play,sharpie....

you`re somethin`,dude..

Just trying to cool this down a bit, gents: I think I know what Punch is getting at here. If a bunch of players are clearly chomping at the bit to unload on a certain fighter, it can possibly affect the odds in a way unfavourable to players. Say the oddsmaker(s) plans on making a fighter a -125 favourite in a competitive match. If he realises that a bunch of players are just waiting to hammer the line, the oddsmaker(s) might take the view: "If these guys are gonna jump on my line, I will just set it at -195 and see if they're quite as eager to go for it at that price."

Get what I mean? I think that Punch simply doesn't want players to tip their hand. Punch, it seems clear to me, wants everyone to have the best chance of making a few dollars, and, as he points out, the goal posts have been moved a little by the oddsmaker(s), with lines now being released late Thursday evening or even Friday morning. If I have misinterpreted Punch's meaning he will no doubt respond, but I do think I understand his position in the matter.

if he`d stated it like you did,i wouldn`t have taken issue with what he said...

i agree ,graham.....and as i said,this was discussed in here before....it`s a legit issue...

two fights were mentioned.....with one it`s painfully obvious which way the public swings....the other`s a toss-up and the line mentioned reflected this....

i was just reading opinions off another site and the opinions basically fell the other way on the fight in question(i`ll post the comments if anyone`s interested)..it`s split...and that`s what frankie was saying...

i think what`s really galling was the insulting smugness that oozed off that post....it was pretty off-putting,particularly in a forum that`s almost always a jovial place to discuss fights...

we all have our disagreements...but c`mon...frank`s been around here for a long time....that was horseshit...

i really don`t see the harm in what frank said....

isn't the real reason that lines are posted later and later because most books just rip off oddessa's line?

they just copy and paste, copy and paste and don't give oddessa a dime for his work and time...

Lets face it. I am frank nobody. Who really gives a rats rear end what I think? I don't even give my own opinions much weight! We are discussing a fight. Lots of guys have strong opinions posted here. Also, how did my post tip anyone's hand as to which way the collective brain trust was thinking. As weasel stated, what, the "cut". Holy crap, that's been posted on line for weeks now. This fight is a toss-up and the line reflects it. I did'nt even say who I liked in the bout. Ten years ago in Vegas I used to find widely divergent lines at different books. Scalps were possible. Not any more. Boxing, unless it's Pac-man or $$$ May is really not a books main focus. Some shops don't even want to post lines on boxing. They wait till the final week leading up to the fight. Especially a competitive fight such as this. They are all nervous and jerky someone may "know" something.

Added fight

Added fight

Kirkland-Ishida has been added as a special middleweight attraction to this card. An 8 rounder. Also Morales says the last 3 tomato cans he fought have prepared him and brought to this fight! Poor Erik; he is going to get dismantled big time. And of course Paulie Malignaggi is fighting Cotto's little brother in a ten rounder. What an abortion this card may turn out to be. Or it may be spectacular. But they have been trying to salvage it since Winky Wright bailed. I heard Butterbean is making a comeback and may also appear on the card! Or better yet, one of the members of Blue Man Group and Carrot Top could duke it out. Only in Vegas.:142smilie

No poop! Yea, I go there, but 24/7? Then again it could be true. I guess I'll have to check it out. From past experience they aren't huge on boxing, as is the case pretty much here. It's not a bad joint, as long as you enjoy lots of second hand cigarette smoke. I hear they pump it in if the air starts clearing up there. If you don't go to TJ, come into town and hang with me and my bud. We got the 2 extra $25 nose bleeds, BUT, we have ways to improve our situation, if you get my drift.
