Hi,

a nice fight coming up here. Should be very entertaining for a change with two skilled heavyweights going up against each other. Yes, you did read that correctly, two skilled heavies in one bout. Anyhow, regardless of that, the question remains, how to make money off the bout.

The way I see it, Potvekin is all wrong for Eddie. Eddie fights going backwards and Potvekin loves coming forwards. Potvekin will be unloading all night, up and downstairs. Although Eddie will undoubtably get a few good counters in, Potvekin has a good chin and a much higher workrate. Eddie just wont have the pop to keep him off.

Not much return in the Potvekin line, but I still think it's reasonable value. I just dont see how Eddie can win. He wont out work him, he cant run from him the whole night, Potvekin is just as (if not more) skilled than Eddie, he has no KO power, and it is in Germany. I think its just a bad match up for Chambers, he could certainly beat a whole bunch of other top contendors.

I think, this will be my comeback fight, in terms of betting.

Sebastian Sylvester would also seem to be a good bet against the inflated Italian "never-was" on the undercard.

cheers

sylvester is fighting a french fighter. And h was in live and death fights against another french of the same caliber.

I like Eddie but i agree that it is hard to imagine that he wins that fight going backwards or even worse fighting on the ropes. He has to stand his ground. easier said than done. Eddie has some power in that right hand Brock did want any of it by the end of their fight. i also dont like his block and hit style for this fight.

Furthermore he is shockingly short, i was at the open training and i say 6 feets and thats an nice guess.

Still i put some money on Eddie, because he is fearless and smart and he is fast.
No matter what this should be a good fight.

"the bunker"
i don`t recall chambers as a "going backwards" style fighter......he basically stands his ground and fights sort of "old school"....like a hopkins or a toney...

that said,he might be better off if he could fight effectively going backwards....particularly here....

having not seen povetkin, but having read about him, both amateur and pro,it seems clear he will be the much stronger man physically...thankfully,for chambers, povetkin isn`t one of these 6`5" beasts...

but,if he`s as fast as chambers and as tough and skilled as he`s purported to be,could be a long night for chambers...

and it`s an away fight...very bad...at a neutral site,i`d actually make a reasonable sized bet on chambers...

as it stands..now at around +500,i`m pretty much obligated to take the wood with a young skilled fighter like chambers...

but,a longshot for sure...

i`m wondering why his peeps took this shot?...chambers is young...he has a bright future...there will be much money to be made when you look at the current crop of heavyweights...particularly here in the states...i have to hope that his corner actually thinks he can win here....and aren`t just throwing him out there for a payday...considering his obvious upside,i think that would be a little premature...

not sure how smart a move this is for chambers...

For those who know or have seen much of Povetkin- what are his shortcomings or complaints from his criticsi?- he can't be the perfect fighter. I'll have to youtube him.

Chambers at his best is not a going backwards fighter. But if pressured enough he retreats to th ropes and covers up. For example in the guinn fight, in which Guinn was really busy for a lazy SOB.
If he does this against Povetkin pain is coming his way. Thats where Povetkin shines hooks and uppercuts in combos to head and body.
The scenario i am hoping for is Eddie standing in the middle of the ring welcoming Povetkin with a crisp jab and accurate right hand right through the middle. If he can stop Povetkin in his tracks that would be a huge first step. Everytime Povetkin comes in Eddie has to mak him pay dearly and than move a little bit and same game starts again. When Byrd was not against the ropes he was doing well against Povetkin.

Eddies team is his family. Mcgirt did not replace his father but was a addition to his coaching crew.
The way he talks and behaves is just top notch.
I really like this guy inside and outside of the ring and that means something being the old misanthrophe that i am.

Thats not a small danger bettingwise though.
I am making this a 200 bucks maximum bet maybe even smaller.
