Vargas is a prohibitive chalk here so I was contemplating a round prop play. Martinez has been fighting 8 rounders for a living. Not sure why really at 30 years of age. Been active with 3 bouts in 2012 versus, well, warm bodies. Vargas only a 40% KO ratio so I am not sure.
Article from Boxingscene.com....

Undefeated welterweight prospect Jessie Vargas (19-0) makes his debut under the Top Rank banner later tonight against Aron Martinez (18-1-1) at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

While Martinez doesn't have a ton of power, he is a tough fighter who has scored his share of upset victories.

On the latest edition of BoxingScene's official audio show The Boxing Lab, Vargas said that he is confident that he won't become another upset victim.

"Martinez has upset some guys but I don't think he's been in the ring with the type of fighter I am. On September 13th I have to prove it. I have to prove I am better."

Vargas thinks that Martinez will try to come out of the gate fast tonight. He expects Martinez to change his strategy and try to outbox him after he feels his power.

"In the first round he may try to attack but when he feels my power he will either try to counter me or try to outbox me. Any option that he goes to I am going to blow him out with my style," Vargas confidently stated.

This will mark Vargas third fight at welterweight. Both of his previous fights at welterweight went the distance. He brought in strength and conditioning Axel Murillo for this fight and feels that with he changes he has made that he will stop Martinez inside of the distance.

"I am feeling strong and very confident. I wouldn't be surprised if this fight doesn't go 6. I did things different in this camp. I brought in a physical trainer this time. Sometimes its better to rest a little so at the end of the training camp instead of getting weaker I am getting stronger. On Thursday night I plan on putting it on display," said Vargas.

So many open questions!

Will Chavez be weight drained or will he have a huge weight advantage?

Is Martinez too old or can he produce a vintage performance?

Will the judges favor Chavez or Martinez (the judges apparently didnt like Chavez in his last fight)!?

2 years ago Martinez wins easy!

Now, its probalby going to be a long gruelilng fight...and maybe someone will be worn down late!
