At -160, Williams looks, an paper anyway, like a pretty large overlay. He did get thumped by Harrison last time out, but he has seen some serious opposition, as opposed to Gammer. My take is he SHOULD be a -330 chalk. Any and all, please feel free to hijack this thread, IF you have something worthwhile to offer.

Line opened -170/+130...early money on Gammer

Location and promotion favor Gammer, and he's more of a boxer than a slugger, he'll most likely outwork Williams. If it goes to the cards I think Gammer takes it, the question is, does Williams have enough left in him to hunt Gammer down and finish him? With Williams...you never know

If Williams was in shape, in his prime, and motivated, he probably wins. But now I have my doughts, and wouldn't put my money on him, esp as a favorite

True that. Williams does put on a few pounds now and again. Also, the Marquez fight is interesting.

Williams fighting to save career

Williams is in "very good shape" ahead of his fight with Gammer
Danny Williams has admitted defeat to Scott Gammer in Friday's British Heavyweight Championship in Neath will spell the end of his boxing career.
The 33-year-old faces Gammer, unbeaten in 18 fights, in an attempt to get his career on track after defeats to Audley Harrison and Matt Skelton last year.

And he conceded: "If I lose this fight, I am finished. This is my last chance.

"People have written me off, but Gammer and his camp have underestimated me. I have a lot to prove and I'm motivated."

Title-holder Gammer, 30, is desperate for victory as he looks to prove himself Britain's best heavyweight ahead of a possible world title bout.

But Williams is in confident mood, saying: "I've done a lot of sprints, road work and sparring and feel really good. I'm in very good shape.

"For the last few fights I haven't been in good shape or prepared properly.

After I beat Gammer I will be looking for revenge with Skelton and maybe Harrison. Those defeats hurt big time

Danny Williams

"Gammer is young, strong, has a good offensive game and a fair dig on him. He's a good fighter but I've shown my heart, determination and punching power.

"This isn't the first time people have written me off and I've always come back."

And Williams is already considering a rematch against Skelton or Harrison should he dispose of Gammer.

"After I beat Gammer I will be looking for revenge with Skelton and maybe Harrison," he said.

"Those defeats hurt big time, not only because I lost but because I wasn't performing. It hurt a lot but I always transfer the negatives into a positive."

Williams IS IN SHAPE!!!!

Williams IS IN SHAPE!!!!

With his career on the line, former heavyweight title challenger and Mike Tyson-conqueror Danny Williams has weighed in at a shockingly low 228 lbs. for his British heavyweight title challenge against Scott Gammer tonight in Neath, Wales. Williams scaled in 56 lbs. lighter than in his fight against Matt Skelton just last year and he weighed 270 for his title challenge against Vitali Klitschko. Champion Gammer weighed 239.

228 is amazing! He must be serious. I was leaning toward Gammer after reading many reports, but weight is an indication of preparation. Thanks for the heads-up matt.
