weekly fights

weekly fights

Before we had an "official" thread for the weeks match ups, we posted opinions on individual fights; whomever guys were interested in or had strong opinions. Its really not so bad as a guy could focus on a bout that he liked more so than others. It worked before and will work again.

No worries, we will keep it going, spoke already to GW and Zerwas and we will keep the weekly format, so we have one combined thread.

-> back to boxing:

I am on Klitschko with a mid amount and on some over bets (early-mid rounds), as I can imagine the fight to go some rounds I added Klitschko by late Ko & Dec/TD + some side bets, e.g. fights ends DQ...
As this is maybe the fight of the year I am really looking forward to next weekend!

Cheers

I only have one BIG bet this week

I am all over Wlad at between -200 and -175 HUGE.

Wlad UNDER 6 rounds BIG.

I think this fight could look like Vitali vs Herbie Hide, small, fast, hard punching guy with a bad chin gets taken to task by a giant with heavy hands.

I can't help thinking about Haye getting stopped in the amateurs by Solis and a guy who does tiles for a living.
I don't put much stock in his amateur losses but he was staggering all over the place against Jimmy Twite and I don't think you can mend a bad chin.

As a pro he was decked and staggered badly by Lolenga Mock who is a Super Middleweight at best.

He then gets dropped and stopped by "Old as dirt" Carl Thompson.

Becomes World champ at Cruiser against old, washed up Mormeck who again decks Haye and is ahead on points before being stopped.

Beats Enzo (We all see how good Enzo was) and proclaims he has cleared out the division. I guess he had never heard of Cunningham or Adamek.

BARELY beats a walking totem pole in Valuev.

Again get's decked and hurt by Monte "No bullets left in two guns" Barrett, although the dumb arse ref ruled it a slip.

Was Huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf against big Piglet John Ruiz.

Don't get me wrong, I actually think Haye has the speed and power to beat Wlad if he just go's out guns blazing for 4 rounds.

I just don't think he has the balls to do that.
He talks a big game but then fights conservatively.

If he was unwilling to engage the powder puff punching Valuev, it will only take one Wlad jab to have him in "Fuck this" mode.

The fight that really threw me over the edge for my bets was against Fraudley.
David had a shitebag who does not want to be there or throw punches and he still didn't throw a punch until the third round.

If he is that conservative against Valuev and Harrison, I just don't see him engaging Wlad.

I believe Haye will try to stay away, start getting caught with jabs, and will be caught by a big right hand and be finished. He might get up but he will stagger all over the place and the ref will stop it.

I think he will be caught quickly, within 3 rounds.

If the fight go's longer I expect him to still get stopped as he will run out of gas and be broken down.

He is also talking about retiring soon and once fighters start thinking down that path, they are already out of the game.

If he come out like Hagler against Hearns, he has a shot but, as they say, a leopard doen't change it's spots and David is a cautious fighter at Heavyweight.

I would also be all over Caballero to beat Barros at -160 if the was not in Argentina as I think he has the style and pressure to give Barros fits.
But, I will not lay chalk on the fighter fighting away from home, not after this weekends fights.

Good luck all :toast: :toast:

I may open a separate thread here and there as I need to be different and never got any attention as a child!

"the bunker"
watched some video of j.v. barros...and i wasn`t impressed...

maybe he`ll be too big...maybe homecourt will be the difference...but he`s not overly quick...and doesn`t appear to be a big puncher...he doesn`t do anything that turns your head...

doesn`t mean i`m laying the wood...just means ii wasn`t crazy about barros.....of course i wasn`t crazy about caballero`s cameo performance vs litzau....his cardio and slapping punches don`t bode well vs bigger guys....

home court is a big advantage in a fight that looks to go to the cards...

Lines, are out.

Looks like a intersting Draw weekend, some pretty close fights that prob. will go the distance :toast:

I will have a closer look after work, but currently there seem to be only a few lines that are tempting me.
