Round seven: Both fighters look content in the latest round just to catch their breath and bide their time.

There's the odd blow exchange but nothing of note until the final 20 seconds when a smattering of punches rain down on Harrison's face. He looks tired but not too fazed by it, particularly as he lands at least the occasional hit.

Round six: The slow hand-clapping begins in earnest as the spectators grow restless in what is an increasingly-tentative fight.

The begrudging applause, however, stops as Williams, clearly the crowd favourite, lands the odd jab. But he's marginally out-jabbed across the ring.

Round five: Clearly encouraged by his corner, Williams pelts his rival with a host of body shots straight from the bell.

The perhaps more technically astute Harrison, however, stands his ground as the blows come in. It's a mightily close contest... at the moment.

Round four: Harrison appears to have a bit of blood above his right eye... seemingly from a clash of heads.

Williams sees his chance as a result and, backed by a chorus of "Danny, Danny, Danny", he moves in with a plethora of punches. Harrison, though, is up to the challenge and counters with a straight left.

Round three: Williams is still making the majority of the moves, hoping his explosive style can catch out Harrison.

Harrison, meanwhile, appears content to bide his time but lands a handful of nice counter-attacking punches as the clock ticks on in the round.

Round two: Jeers and boos come from the crowd as the two fighters spend more of their time mauling rather than brawling in the ring.

Williams, though, lands an almighty right hand on his countryman, which brings both of them crashing down to the canvas... albeit in a slightly humorous fashion. For now Williams marginally has the edge.

Round one: It's a tentative start from both men with neither landing anything particularly explosive from the outset. After a couple of minutes of ducking and weaving, they briefly become entangled by the ropes.

Harrison twice complains to the referee after arguing Williams has twice hit him in the back of the head. The referee, though, opts against taking any action.

All times GMT

2132: The MC works the crowd into a frenzy just moments ahead of the fight. The final introductions are now being dished out in the ring.

2128: There's a bit of a mixed response for Audley Harrison as he walks into the arena. There are some cheers but they are outweighed by a cacophony of boos in the crowd.

2126: There's big cheers as Danny Williams enters the ring to a fanfare of music and an array of flashing lights. He looks mightily focused as he saunters in quite casually.

2122: The atmosphere is already building in Docklands in the wake of Amir Khan's impressive second-round stoppage of Daniel Thorpe.

2120: Danny Williams is set to take on Audley Harrison in their heavyweight clash at London's ExCel Arena.

Williams weighed in on Friday at 19st 6lb, over a stone heavier than Harrison, who scaled 18st 1lb.

Round eight: The ExCel Arena is full of the chant "fight, fight, fight" more in hope than expectation from those in their seats. That's closely followed by "what a load of rubbish".

Harrison's doing very little attacking in this fight, while Williams at least has the odd dabble, although with little real affect.

Round nine: It seems remarkably close out there. While Williams has perhaps tried to mix it up a little more, Harrison's technically picked the punches better.

It's another two-and-a-half minutes of punches being thrown but failing to hit their target. The frustration is on the face of Williams and in the voices of the crowd. The bell is once again greeted by big boos.

Round 10: Williams grits his teeth and goes hell for leather at Harrison in a desperate bid to move the contest into his favour.

And it finally pays off when he brings Harrison crashing down to the canvas with an almightily harsh roundhouse right hand. Harrison now looks tired and shaken.

Round 11: Harrison covers up as Williams opens up with an array of body shots. Then totally against the run of play the former Olympic champion hits back on his rival with style.

Less than two minutes after looking down and out, he sends Williams stumbling back with some stunning hits... but just can't quite finish it off. The best round of the night bar none, which bodes well for a belting final round.

Round 12: Williams leaves himself open with a final onslaught. He punches thin air with a wild sling and is then duly battered with four or five hits.

In a thrilling last round, Williams turns the tables again, peppering Harrison with blows to both the body and the head.

But Harrison isn't finished and smacks his rival back onto the ropes with another punch.

Seconds later, the bell goes to bring the bout to a close - it's going to be an almightily close decision... but it remains to be seen who will take the plaudits.

Judges' decision: It's a split decision... but it goes to Williams. Phil Edwards judges him the winner by 116-113, while Mark Ring gives it to Harrison 114-113. Williams, though, gets the nod after being scored 116-112 byt Terry O'Connor.

There's a mixed reception to the result among the crowd, not least of all Harrison who was all set to start his celebrations.
