was looking at the daniel seda-smoke gainer odds and stumbled onto the cory spinks-rafael pineda bout on espn friday night....spinks is laying -140 here and i think that is way to low......pineda from columbia has a good enough record(37-4 with 31 k.o.`s)....but,after digging a little i found out pineda is 36 years old and has had some serious non-boxing gaps in his career...he is fighting a very slick,tall lefty in cory spinks who just came back from a decision loss to champion michelle piccirrillo in italy...from what i have read and heard,spinks won the fight easily and was home-towned.... i have found out that 2 of pineda`s losses were to pernell whitaker(back in "92"-pineda has been fighting since 1986!) and another slick lefty emmett linton....they are fighting in florida....i have personally seen spinks fight and he is extremely quick and is talented...not a huge banger,but,i think he wins this decision easily....spinks` other loss was and extremely close split decision(i thought he won) to then unbeaten antonio diaz... ...i am not trying to sell anybody,but,i`m hitting this one fairly hard...i like the cat quick 24 year old vs the slower 36 year old heading downhill....
also,taking a smaller shot at puerto rican daniel seda vs smoke gainer....this fight is being held in puerto rico and the judges names are ricardo duncan,fernando viso and nelson vasquez
.......seda is 18-0 with 15 k.o.`s and i admittedly know very little about him....gainer is a good lefty,but has an extremely suspect chin....considering the venue and the judges i am shocked that gainer is taking this fight in puerto rico...gainer has split from the protection of the roy jones camp and my guess is he needs to make some money and agreed to take this fight in puerto rico because it offered the biggest payout.....i think all things considered it`s worth a shot at +120 when weighing the advantages of taking a good punching home town boy with all latino judges vs a guy with shaky mgmt and a shaky beard as well....g.l....
