Considering it, but I think it drops further. Not sure if my conscience will let me pull the trigger, and I am a greedy bastard.

I'm surprised there isn't more short interest.

What happens when that cleanup bill exceeds 100 billion? Bankruptcy? Issue a billion more dilutive shares?

I'll safely stay away even though some are going to make a killing, but will it be shorts or longs?

Have read rationale for both longs and shorts regarding BP; I'm firmly in the short camp as I think they will be bankrupt before being a viable company again.

If you really want to play the oil biz, load up on XOM. They along with other oil companies have been getting slammed on Wall Street for no other reason than they are in the same biz...

Wished I had pulled the trigger when XOM was trading for under 60. Still great value @ 62 and change; I own 300+ shares in my SEP that I've acquired over the years via their DRIP program--at a much higher avg price than what it sells for today. Will be adding to my holdings in XOM over the next few months--or for as long as its trading under 70....

This is very similar to Philip Morris a few years ago, correct?

I agree stay away from BP for at least next year.
THere are many better ways to go XOM like Reds mentioned is a good one.
If I play BP it will be short.

Investors should remember that excitement and expenses are their enemies. And if they insist on trying to time their participation in equities, they should try to be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.

BP stock question

BP stock question

Thanks for input...only reason I look at them is they make 30 billion a year and I think they make minor return then I agree time to short or do a little of both now. Time to look at XOM
