The Atlanta Braves look to avoid an unlikely sweep tonight when they play the final of a three-game set at Cincinnati.

The Reds have taken the first two games at Great American Ball Park and have now won 11 of their last 15 overall. Their 24-22 record overall is good for fourth place in the NL Central. 26 year-old right-hander Ryan Dempster looks for his first victory in eight outings tonight. He has lost his last three decisions overall and has struggled recently at home going 0-1, 6.05 ERA thru his last four appearances. In 46 innings of work this season he has walked 41 batters and struck out just 26. Facing the Braves will give him little confidence though as in 12 career starts against Atlanta he is a dismal 1-7.

Prior to their trip to Cinci the Braves had won 10 straight series to boast the best record in baseball . Following losses in the first two games of this series they are now 6-3 on their current road trip, 16-8 away overall and at 31-15 lead the NL East. Veteran right-hander Shane Reynolds is unbeaten his last four starts and has been solid on the road this season going 1-0 with a 3.97 ERA. In 17 career starts against the Reds he is 4-8 with a 4.26 ERA.

Cinci have not beaten Atlanta in three straight since 1996....the Braves haven't dropped three in a row since opening the season 0-3 against Montreal.

Despite being on the road we'll take the better team with the better starter tonight.
