All of you HAVE GOT to read the book "Bringing down the House" by Ben Mezrich. If many of you already know about the book, I humbly apoligize for the redundancy, but my GOD is it a sweet read!!! It's the true story about these 6 MIT students in the mid and late 90's who were on a "blackjack team" of sorts at MIT. They learned things from card counting, to the ability to cut 52 cards from a 6 deck shoe every time. They could follow an ace through a vegas shuffle and have it dealt to exactly the person they needed it dealt to at the precise time. They had many more elaborate systems too. They took vegas for millions, and it's so fawking beautiful how they did it. What a rush! You guys have to read it if you haven't.

If you have, did you love it as much as I did?? dID ANY of you guys on this forum know any of the MIT guys? Are any of the guys on this forum actually any of the MIT guys? If so, I beg you to e-mail me! I swear I wont tell anyone.:nono:

I read The Odds a couple months ago, a pretty interesting and entertaining read especially for people who do this stuff everyday like us. I recommend spending the short amount of time as it takes on it.

Fred...........thanks for the tip............I bought it yesterday and finished it this morn..........couldn't put it down. What makes it really intriguing is I'll be in Vegas Wed thru Sat and of course anyone who reads it is thinking they can duplicate the feat as well. Great book....just wondering if any teams are still active and enjoying any success with the automatic shufflers.

Automatic shufflers are very beatable. It is not widely known, but most casinos are working to establish additional shuffling procedure or get new equipment as the auto shufflers are easier to track cards in than manual shuffling. I have links to a couple interesting articles on this, but I can't post links to them here as you can see from my edited post above. Such is life ;)

Lots of teams still around the world as well. Smaller teams are easier to work now days, but anywhere a new casino resorts opens you will find multiple teams working them.
