Well finally got registered and am going to give you boys some winners!! A little on my background. I have been handicapping nascar for 2 yrs with excellent results in qualifiing( this is like stealing if you can observe practice before placing your wagers)
Race match ups are there also to pounce on.

Congrats to 1837 and The Big Tease excellent work so far this season.

Now the method to my madness...Nascar qualifing is soooo beatable. You just have to find a book who doesn,t take the lines down before practice occurs. In previous yrs
there were ussually 2 practices before qualifing occured. This yr there have only been one and they have been closely following completion of it. The key is to have all your info. 1.) where your driver ran in qualifing. 2.) where your competition ran in practice. 3.) And to scour the newsgroups to be sure no mitigating circumstances led to a driver not running well in practice and coming up and surprising in qualifiing. 3.) Also have your lines and the outs you are using to wager on these supplied with money and to make your wagers immediately. Lines for qualifiing have been dissappearing before practice is even occuring. If you bet qualifiing without practice numbers you might as well play craps
cause history means nothing in qualifiing. Problems can occur that you can use to your advantage. History does dictate good results as far as the race is concerned though. Rusty wallace and Jeff Gordon have dominated Bristol for 10 yrs. DO NOT OPPOSE EITHER this week. Noticed most outs have them matched up against each other this week.

The Big Tease...I noticed you use allstarsportsbook.com. Are they reliable? Do they leave up qualifing lines until it starts? I am very leary with starnet cause I was burned by an RCMP raid in 99 at another starnet book. Took forever to get pd.

Well I will quit rambling here . I am moving this week so posting may not occur for me cause I need to get practice results on friday am and apply them and then go to closing on my house. If I can put up something I will. Otherwise I will be arround friday or saturday for race match ups. This sport is much more beatable than basketball...make your dollars here sooo easy and you can have a home life too!!!lol

Good Luck All..hope I can give you some winners.

Welcome!! This has slowly become my sport of choice, and I LOVE the fact you can now put down wagers on particular matchups!

I'd suggest we all put Bristol info. in this particular thread. Would be much easier on the index finger.

True, Gordon, Earnhardt, & Rusty have dominated this track for the last 15 years. The odds will be terrible so I'll be staying away from these two particular fellas. Also watch out for Park, he seems to have everything clicking right now...

And you know who might show up here. Good old Mark Martin. Odds will be good cause he ant did crap so far. But he can drive this track. Have to see how practice goes.

R Wallace....12-1
J Mayfield...60-1
W Burton.....30-1
S PArk.......20-1
M Martin.....20-1

These are all at casinoonair.com...this is the book I had trouble with about 2 yrs ago and is also a starnet book..but the numbers of over lays there are excellent. They over correct for current hot drivers.

S marlin---6-1
J Gordon...3-1

No value in those 2 numbers...I went there basically to look for qualifiing match ups..so far none listed.

allstarsportsbook looks very juicy right now. Hoping they keep the lines up until after practice.

Mayfield at 60-1 will certainly be one of my selections. His car looked damn good last week and he may just be turning things around. Not the greatest, but Park at 20-1 might be another wager....

In 21 of 39 years since Bristol opened, a driver who won a Winston Cup race at Bristol went on to win the series title later the same year.*

WCS track qualifying record: Steve Park, 15.184 sec. 126.37 mph, 3/24/00.

Most Bristol wins (manufacturer): Chevrolet, 36 (Ford is second with 23).

Bristol Herald Courier

Testing is a vital, if monotonous, part of a NASCAR driver's life.
Teams make qualifying and race-runs, observe various parts on the car and compare notes. It didn't take a NASCAR official to determine who the fastest driver at Bristol Motor Speedway was last week.

``By my stopwatch, everybody better look out for Sterling (Marlin),'' Winston Cup veteran Rick Mast said. ``A bunch of us were right there together in qualifying-trim, but I didn't see anybody close to Sterling in race-trim.''

Ricky Rudd was also impressed with Marlin's Chip Ganassi Racing Dodge.

``Sterling was exceptionally good,'' Rudd said. ``That was kind of our benchmark.

``We were happy with our test and I thought we learned a little something. We ran some fast laps in qualifying-trim and looked decent in race-trim. I think we were as good, if not one of the better, cars overall. Sterling was fast, though.''

The performance of the Dodge boys will be one of the most interesting stories in Sunday's Food City 500 at BMS.

Winston Cup rookie Jason Leffler has been watching and learning from his teammate at Ganassi Racing.

``Bristol is one of Sterling's best tracks, so he's a great teacher,'' Leffler said. ``It's good to have a teammate to learn from and Sterling showed me how to get around here during our test.

``I think the Dodge program has been doing really good overall. Sterling has been near the top in points and some of the other Dodge drivers, like Dave Blaney, have had a really good car. This program is still young. It's just going to get bigger and better.''

Mast is one of the most experienced drivers in Winston Cup. However, he experienced a first at BMS last week.

``I've run at Bristol since around the mid-1980s and I don't live that far from the track, but I had never tested at Bristol before,'' Mast said. ``We enjoy coming to Bristol and always run well here for the most part. We just had never tested here for some reason.''DARLINGTON, S.C. ? NASCAR Winston Cup driver Robby Gordon may have competed in his last event for the Morgan-McClure Motorsports team.

Sources on Friday indicated driver Kevin Lepage had already been fitted for the seat in the No. 4 Kodak Chevrolet and is expected to attempt to qualify the car today when the field is set for Sunday?s Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 at Darlington Raceway. The team is expected to announce the driver change prior to today?s first practice session, which is scheduled to begin at 7:45 a.m.

Last week?s Winston Cup race from Atlanta Motor Speedway pulled a 6.7/17 national rating, a rise of 18 percent over last year?s figures for the same event on ABC. The Cracker Barrel 500 was the top-rated sports event of the weekend, out-drawing the NCAA Basketball Tournament Selection Show on CBS by 20 percent. ~~unbelievable~~

James Ince's decision last weekend to use Jeff Gordon's pit crew on his team's final pit stop for driver Johnny Benson was a gutsy call, but a no-win situation. Even if Gordon's crew got Benson out front and he went on to win the race, it would have left a bad impression about the quality of Benson's pit crew. And just the move itself likely ruffled some feathers on the team.

Rusty Wallace swept both Bristol events last season, making him a prime candidate this week to pick up his first series win of the season.

It started before the Daytona 500, with Ford drivers sniping at the new Dodges, saying the Intrepid body looked very similar to the Taurus. Coupled with what was thought to be a clear horsepower advantage for the Dodges, the blue oval guys were more than a bit upset.

"The Dodge was more than 50 horsepower better than the Ford in qualifying trim and was more than 30 horsepower better than the Ford in race trim [at Daytona]," team owner Jack Roush said. "The Ford was disadvantaged, I don't know, 10 or 12 horsepower to the Pontiac and the Chevrolet."

Hearing that, one wonders why the Dodges haven't dominated the early going of the 2001 season. Of course, there are other factors going into play -- the Dodge boys are also sorting things out with a completely new chassis, and everyone is getting to know Goodyear's new rubber better.

You can bet on a strong rebound from Gordon this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, site of Sunday's Food City 500. Gordon tallied four straight Food City 500 victories at the .533-mile, high-banked bullring between 1995 and 1998, making him one of the most prolific pilots to ever grace Bristol's high banks.

Jeremy Mayfield

We?re planning on carrying that momentum on to Bristol this week, where we have a great shot at winning. Last spring, we came so close to doing that. We had a great car and performed well all day. We very well could have won the race if it weren?t for a problem with the air gun on our last pit stop. We were pretty much just out of time to rebound back from our restart position further in the back.

We?re going to focus on qualifying well to put us in the front from the beginning. It?s important to stay on the lead lap, and at Bristol that is easier said than done. It takes a short time for the leaders to start lapping the field, so you have to work on staying up front.

Bristol is a tough place to race, and you just have to stay out of trouble. There?s always going to be bumping and contact, and you expect it. You just have to keep focused and remain as alert as possible. I believe that if we can stay out of trouble we will come out of this week with a strong top-five finish, if not the win.

JEREMY MAYFIELD: I thought this team would never turn up the burner, they've had nothing but disasters for most of the early part of season 2001, but Mayfield and the Mobil team sneaked up on the competition and came from the 37th starting position to finish 3rd in Darlington!!

ELLIOTT SADLER: continues to impress us with his racing skills. Two top 15 finishes so far this season is marking an improvement for him and the entire Motorcraft Team.

RICKY RUDD: had a rough start to the season, with a 39th place showing in Rockingham, but now with back to back top ten finishes things seem to be looking brighter. In his 700th start, Ricky seems to be gaining back the momentum he had last season.

Andretti has one top-five finish during his career at Bristol, a fourth-place run in the Food City 500 in 1999.

I continue to search daily for favorible odds. Just checked a previous out and look at these numbers on the race.

R Wallace....12-1
J Mayfield...60-1
W Burton.....30-1
S PArk.......20-1
M Martin.....20-1

You sure those aren't Winston Cup Championship odds? Those are identical to Allstarsports odds. Even Mayfield couldn't be a 60-1 shot at Bristol. His performance there has been pretty damn good over the past few years....

those odds from casinoonair.com are actually winston cup championship odds, not for the food city 500...just look at the date of the event...they usually have a link for "winston cup" which means points total, and for the race. te race is not up yet, but the points total is...that's what u see
