Round 1 play (2pts):

Lee Westwood to beat Matthew Fitzpatrick -110 @ Paddy Power
A small play on Westwood for round 1. He is now based full-time on the European Tour despite being eligible for the PGA Tour in 2015-16 as he seeks to live closer to his children, so I expect him to play better here than in the U.S. where he still reached the Playoffs. It is a long time ago, but he has finished 1st and 2nd in the last two British Masters (2007, 2008) and is sounding confident in interviews ahead of this event. Fitzpatrick is a great prospect, but he doesn't yet have the consistency of a top-50 player and is worth opposing in round 1.

Round 2 plays (2pts):

Chris Wood to beat Matthew Fitzpatrick +125 @ SkyBet
Fitzpatrick showed that he is a great prospect by taking the rd1 lead on his own today, but he is opposed again on the basis of his relative lack of consistency and his inability to convert such a lead in a Tour event. He led the Czech Masters after 36 holes in August, but finished the next round five shots off the pace. He did better when he led the European Masters after 54 holes in July, but bogeyed the first hole and finished in 2nd place behind Danny Willett. And did he play as well as he scored? Given that he ranked outside the top-30 in driving distance, driving accuracy and greens in regulation today, it is clear that he didn't play that well and it will all the more difficult tomorrow as the rd1 leader. Wood is coming off a top-5 finish in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship last week and has the form to take advantage of any pressured play by Fitzpatrick tomorrow.

Round 3 plays (2pts):

Soren Kjeldsen to beat Matthew Fitzpatrick -110 @ Pinnacle [also available @ 5Dimes and SkyBet]
Continuing to oppose Fitzpatrick as he birdied two of the last three holes to join Kjeldsen at the top of the leaderboard. He again ranked outside the top-20 for driving accuracy and greens in regulation on the round and he is clearly not playing as well as the Dane. He is also 0-for-1 when leading after 36 holes whereas Kjeldsen is 3-for-5 from this position on the European Tour and 1-for-1 on the Challenge Tour. That experience will be key tomorrow and he should be the favourite in this matchup.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat to beat Matthew Fitzpatrick +100 @ Paddy Power
A winner on the European Tour in August and with a top-5 finish last week, Aphibarnrat has been in very good form and is only one shot behind the leaders after rd2. He is in perfect position and should take advantage of any more difficulties that Fitzpatrick has while leading the event.

Jaco Van Zyl to beat Julien Quesne -130 @ 5Dimes
Van Zyl is another in good form - he has finished 3rd and 14th in two of his last three starts, whereas Quesne has made his first cut since the first week of August in this event. With Van Zyl's ball-striking also superior - he ranks ahead of Quesne in both driving accuracy and greens in regulation this week - he warrants a short price in this matchup.

Round 4 play (2pts):

Anthony Wall to beat Lee Slattery +110 @ SkyBet
Wall has dominated this matchup 9-4-0 h2h in 2014, so even though Slattery has finishes of 1st and 2nd in consecutive weeks last month, Wall tends to win this matchup more times than he loses and so doesn't warrant these odds. There is enough value here for a small play.
