Stan, Ian, Clive, ag etc - can someone help me out with some info for a possible story this week.
Am following the ruckus occurring in our neck of the woods for Tiger's visit next year when the organisers of the NZ Open want to charge $NZ500 for a ticket.
The ticket apparently covers practice rounds, pro-am etc..
Can someone tell me how much it would cost for a similar deal for the British Open this week? The value in pounds is fine and I'll convert to our dismal currency

Anders, daily British Open ticket prices are:

?35 (full price) / ?20 (Senior citizen) / ?13 (Youth 16-21)

Weekly tickets range from ?110-130 dependent upon when they were bought.

Under-16s free

Daily prices for this week's Scottish Open were ?25/?15/no concession. As usual, under-16s free. This was an expensive tournament though. Relevant price for the British Masters were ?15/10/no concession and under-18s free.

Hope this helps the campaign against the proposed ticket prices

Cheers Stan =

130 pound (can't believe this stupid keyboard doesn't have a pound sign on it!!) is approx $NZ480, so that's not short of Tiger prices...but then it's not exactly the British Open...

Not sure where I sit on this; it's a crazy amount of money for sure but not that comfortable with golfers who make millions complaining about the poor broke public...
also think market forces/supply and demand will dictate whether it's too expensive or not..

Unfortunately, with golf not being one of my rounds, I won't be going either way
