I played Sweden +.5 vs. Finland in the womens bronze medal game, it was wagered as a loss even though Finland won in OT. I played this at 2 other books and it was graded as a win.
They tell me thats their rules.:mj07:
See rules below:

Sandra Carlton: Overtime: For wagering on games in the National Hockey League, the final score includes overtime. Regardless of the number of goals scored during the shootout portion of overtime, the final score recorded for the game will give the winning team one more goal than the score at the end of regulation time.

Mistakes happen, but for them to not realize they made a mistake is downright comical:mj07:

(QUOTE]

Only if you play at Brobury.....

The Olympic hockey grading is pissing me off. I played Slovakia last week on the moneyline +645 vs. Russia @ 365, Slovakia won in shootout, but they graded it as a push? 365 said that is their rules on Olympic hockey...

Hey Deucer,

Brobury management will honor this win as the rules are not clear on this for Olympic hockey. We will be discussing this and will update the rules to be clearer...In the future if you have a dispute like this please contact your personal host. If you don't have one, write management@broburysports.com.

Thanks,

James

I edited the thread title since it was unfair and the error was corrected very quickly after I notified them.

Title was a bit harsh, but I was pissed with the response they gave me. Guess I should've let Jack deal with first.
Jack,
Thanks for the help. So far they have not chaged the outcome, but I'll give it a few days.

Cheers,
:toast:

you get your win...but we should clarify...

you get your win...but we should clarify...

Deucer,

As expressed to you and Jack in separate emails Brobury will all always try to reacted quickly in resolving disputes with customers, and give the customer the benefit of the doubt.

In your situation because 'Olympic' hockey was not clearly defined in the our rules we gave you the benefit of the doubt and will award you the win.

However, it is important that we clarify to the other readers what Brobury rules are and how inline they are with industry standard.

BROBURY
For wagering purposes, winners and losers are determined by the final score, provided that the game has gone the minimum time as specified above.
Overtime: For wagering on games in the National Hockey League, the final score includes overtime. Regardless of the number of goals scored during the shootout portion of overtime, the final score recorded for the game will give the winning team one more goal than the score at the end of regulation time.

BOOKMAKER
(same):

If a game requires a shoot-out to determine the winner, One goal will be awarded to the winner for the final score (regardless of how many goals scored in the shoot-out) which will be recognized for the total goals scored as well as the winning team.

BODOG
(same):

1. Hockey games don't have to go full regulation play for wagers to have action. Games are official for wagering purposes after 55 minutes of play.
2. In addition to wagers on the whole game, all third period wagers include results from overtime.
3. For games that require a shootout, only one goal will be awarded to the winning team when determining the final score regardless of how many goals are scored during the shootout round.

BetED
(same)

Hockey Betting rules:

1. For betting purposes, NHL and NCAA becomes official after Fifty-Five Minutes (55 min) of play.
2. Games lasting under 55 min constitute "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" and all money is refunded. * Parlays drop to the next lower level.
3. Betting on point spread, or totals for the game includes overtime scoring.
4. Games that remain tied after a five-minute overtime period will be settled in a shootout in which three players from each side will take turns taking penalty shots. In the event of the game being decided by shootout, only one goal will be added to the winner`s final score for betting purposes.

JUSTBET
(same)
Official Game
A game must go 55 minutes to be considered official on both sides and totals. Any overtime scoring counts toward the side and total.

For hockey betting purposes, if the game is tied at the end of regulation and overtime, the winner of a SHOOTOUT between the two teams will be given one goal, thereby making them the winning team.

I think I can stop there. Using these above rules your situation now looks like:

You had Sweden and they were tied at the end of the game due to the fact that the rules says that overtime is included for wagering purposes the bet is not complete yet on the overtime however wins get 1 goal (for wagering) so in order for you to win he must had Sweden +1.5 not plus half because in our records the finale score counting the points given would be Sweden 2.5 Finland 3 therefore the wager is lost

So, we are all curious to what other TWO books you won at? And why so harsh words towards Brobury?

I can give you a list of 12 different books that graded that game as a win.....

+0.5 and -0.5 regulation lines are very very common at European books....very common.

Bottom line.....+0.5 and -0.5 are regulation lines in Olympics because games don't end in ties.

As for mine and deucer's "harsh words"......they were hardly harsh....just crazy that it took so long. But great job by you guys to fix the errror, it just shouldn't have taken so long that's all. Easy to see game went to OT, easy to see it was a winner.

And good to see ya got your money deucer.....:)

And props to the book for fixing the error, they messed up and admitted they screwed up. Lots of shady books out there, good to see Brobury Sports isn't one of em:SIB

Plus....now they know that if they offer REGULATION lines, that you grade the wager after REGULATION.

Agree, props to them for fixing an error. Most books could give a rats crap if there is a grading problem.

Very well done all the way around. My only question would be why offer a line of 0.5 on an Olympic hockey game when the only outcome is one team or the other winning? Since there are no ties, the line of 0.5 is essentially worthless (unless it is a regulation line, which was Deucer's line of thinking....and rightfully so).
