Well after last night's meltdown (Yanks/Saints), I don't know how I can find the strength to go at it with the man again...

But tonight is special.

I am a HUGE Broncos fan and have been since the days of Craig Morton and the Orange Crush (or since I was 9-10)...

There is no game that I adore more than the Broncos/Raiders. This is as intense as a rivalry can be in any sport and the games are usually entertaining.

Here we go...

There is no doubt in my mind the Raiders are a better football team at this juncture in the season than Denver. The Broncos have suffered some serious injuries (mainly "Steady" Eddie, and Howard Griffith) this year and even Griese is not 100% and probably won't be for the rest of the year.
The Raiders are also a little banged up tonight. Most of the skilled players on both teams are fine and will play.

We all know about Denver's dominance of this series recently (well for the past 5 years or so), but the Raiders are getting a little tired of this 'little' streak Denver has going against them. 11 out of 12 is pretty dominant in this day and age (except in college football---Neb/Kansas etc...).

I am not going to overcap this game. To me it is pretty simple. Shanahan ( I know he doesn't suit up and play) simply hates the Raiders and gets his team up for this game more than any other on their schedule each year. He is an excellent caoch and great motivator (Gruden is too, but not as experienced).

To me, giving a team almost a touchdown head start in a series where they have won the past 11 of 12 (technically Shanny is 14 for his last 15 against the Raiders--with Denver and SF), is a gift.

Give me Denver +6
and "I'll try" a small shot on them on the $$$ line.

Good luck everyone

nice write up. I am with you. Its like the tortoise and the hare: Oakland is better, but Denver will outsmart them and just keep chugging along! good luck
