Really like this game today.Won with the 2 dogs so far so switching to a favorite today.Texas Tech with Kingsbury is dangerous.Has close to 8,000 yds,64% completions,TD's etc,etc.OL is good.He has 9 WR's,4 of them caught 50 passes each.The others double digits.
Rickey Williams 2 caught 92 passes.Also rushed for 762.he is gone.And that presents major problems.TT doesn't have anyone to step in his place.Leach relied so much on Williams that the next guy gained 97 yds.Munlin will start and he has 25 carries-82yds.
This team is predicated on a passing attack and a run to keep you honest.But they have no running game.
TT defense is somewhat overated.They led the nation in shutouts the past few yrs.But I think it's a soft D.Lyr they gave up New mex 30,UTexas 42[I was there]34 Kansas,41 Neb,30 OSU and 30 OU.Thats the most Kansas scored lyr.In Lubbuck too.
Ohio St comes in with some internal problems.FB quit the team the other day.WR suspended,etc,etc.On defense their loaded.Both safties are the best tandem in the country.DL and LB's are athletic.And that is the key.They ended the season on an upswing.Tressell will win with this team.His recruiting yr was equal to Texas.He got the USA Today POYr in tailback Clarett.Yes he could be another Archie G or George.And he is starting over Ross who thought he had the job.Krenzel is the QB.I hate these type of Qb's but OSU will over power you with the run and keep you honest with play action,etc.But super frosh Zwick will be standing right next to coach today.And if Krenzel plays like he did in the Outback Bowl he'll be on the sideline.
Jenkins at WR is touh.Vance is out today.
But today the Buckeye fans will like what they see in Clarett.I see him having a huge day vs the Tech D.
When I saw Kingsbury lyr in Austin,he had a career day.Broke the completion record for D-Royal Stad.I think he was 46-60[could be exagerating]he completed pass after pass.
And TT got their ass killed 42-7.No wonder why he has 4 WR's with 50 receptions each.Every pass was a 5 yd slant in or a 3 yd down and out. Mack brown gave that to them.So do other oppenents.So will OSU today.TT needs a guy to break a 5 yds pass and turn it into a 20 yd gain.
But we have a problem in Columbus today.They play on grass.TT plays on astro turf.They have astro turf in the dorms and cafeteria in Lubbock.The drive in movies have astro turf.TT never plays football on grass.There team will be slower on grass.
Buckeye's eat and drink on grass.[some smoke it too]
With such an athletic defense I think TT has trouble in Columbus today.Kingburry does have a good arm.Leach is a good coach. But w/o Williams they need time to work their offense. Today in Columbus is not the place.Bucks win this by 2 TD's and TT needs to get their uni's cleaned after all the grass stains on the "butts".
