Buffalo +1 over North Texas ****
Bulls are loaded and should win the MAC.. they return the best def player and best rebounder in the conf in 6'7 fd Mballa also the best scorer in 6'5 fd Williams who is the best player on the court tonight and a super pt gd in Segu..All 3 could make 1st team all conf. Bulls play uptempo and fast. North Texas last yr went dancing and knocked off Purdue in the 1st round.. But everyone is gone. Hamlett their pt gd last yr had the ball in his hands 75% of the time. How do you replace someone like him.. You don't. NT is rebuilding and Has Bell return as top scorer. But I will bet Hamlett set him up on most of his baskets. NT is also missing its post Simmons and best outside shooter in Reese. They do have 6'10 Ousame in the post but he is not a scorer and McBride is expected to score but losing Hamlett is almost impossible because he was the leading scorer and assists man and penetrater. NT will have to take some time establishing an offense w/o him. Bulls play tough defense and play fast. McCasland has done an outstanding job as coach of North Texas where they actually play tough defense. Just look at what they did to Purdue last year in the NCAA's . But NT also had a pt gd in Hamlett that Purdue couldn't stop. NT defense might be able to slow down the Bulls but not enough. In my crazy and wacky handicapping system good pt gds negate the 2 or 3 home court advantage pts Segu.. Best player on the floor is Williams and best rebounder and defensive player Mballo ...although Buffalo is staying at a holiday in Denton thats 1 pt for the Mean green. I was actually invited to this game way back but I just got back from a week in NY and my wife and I want to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary . We met at North Texas and I thought maybe we could drive up from Austin to visit our Alma mater ..but she knows me and said " is there a basketball game that weekend Busted Think she knows me to well anyway I like Buffalo to win outright and by 5 -8 pts

Also like Fordham -8 over St Thomas **

Buffalo +1.5 over North Texas *****
think wrong team is favored ...just to add a few things
Buffalo did play in North Texas Super Pit last year losing to Col St in the NIT's. So the court is somewhat familiar. Super Pit at North Texas is a nice stadium but the seats are to far back from the court. Now across the street is the real "Pit" that seats 4,500 and that was a huge home court advantage . My freshmen year we were 14-0 there and knocked off number 10 Louisville 98-80. the year before were were 13-1 ..that was a real home court advantage . Then they made the Super Pit and although its big and seats around 10,000 ,the seats are to far from the court and players. Its still a home court but you not going to rattle a visiting team.. and esp a gd like Segu
anyway love Buffalo tonite. Think they have the glass and paint controlled. They have an electric pt gd in Segu who will distribute the ball and a big time scorer in Williams who NT will have a tough time stopping and Mablla who is the favorite to win the MAC POY.. They are all seniors and have depth at every position North Texas is rebuilding and again losing a Hamlett will take time to figure out their new offense ...
