I think they all look nice. I've been there and done it, though, updating and maintaining a sports gambling webpage everyday. I would 'cap for 30 minutes then spend 1.5-2hrs updating my page and answering emails. It's very time consuming, and for me, it got to where it was not fun anymore. Just think if u did a whole page of updates for your page and saved it only to discover that u need to add 3 spaces on every line to make it look good, or u delete old records before the new ones are figured, or u hit update, and the server crashes causing u to lose all your information, etc. etc. etc. It's not just as easy to type a bit and have it come up and look great. I met a lot of nice people (Dogs that Bark included who I feel is one of my best friends now), and a few losers when I was doing it, but overall the experience was good. Guess I was just wanting to point out that what these guys have done and will try to maintain (I know Anders has already done this for several months at another site) is hard and takes a lot of precious time and effort. I know Nolan and Nick get bashed on here for whatever reasons sometimes, and I'm not a puppet that always agrees, but I enjoy what they have done with their pages, and I hope these do just as well. I also enjoy the other front page cappers, don't want to leave them out. Good luck on the websites!

this will be a completely new and separate section to madjacks. it has nothing to do with the 'freepicks' area or any other area. we're going to try to set up a community where people can post and design their own web pages under any topic they want. just a trial thing to see if there's interest and to see if we can grow and build a community from there. i will open a new section and list each site under it's appropriate category within the week. you can have free sports picks, free stock tips, a humor section, politics, whatever. maybe there will be interest, maybe not. let's see.

thanks for the reply, sixfive.

Sixfive, I think youre right, it all depends on how much time people will put into it in the long run. Personally, I use a program called Homesite 5 which is a full blown HTML designer. It takes less than a minute to copy all the text I write in Textpad into my html files, which then get uploaded to Jacks site. Couldnt be easier and is frankly much easier than using FTP which is how I run my personal web site.

All the other pages look great guys, good luck to all of you!

Good pts 65, thanks TJ and thanks of course to Jack...

Guys, great work .... hey equity trader, looks like those other dudes know their way round a PC huh :D :spotting:

Jack, real keen on that e-mail list if u could, have a few questions I'm sure Ray'75 and acehistr8 could help me with...

Will have my take on the NFL X season opener on the page later today; some British football coming up and those NFL pre-season trends will continue....

Each week I aim to contribute a topic that should gender some decent debate amongst members on 'capping theories/policies/preferences...

And as I learn my way around html etc hopefully I can provide readers some pussy like acehistr8 has :D :Yep: dance2

Question for Jack, et.al. who are familiar with html and stuff:

I would be interested in trying this but have 0 - ZERO - NIL - ZIP knowledge of how to do it. If I get a book, something like "HTML for Dummies", would this be sufficient for me to give this a go?? Or would I still be over my head and need to gain experience setting up a web page before I could try this here?

I dont want to take up space that someone else could use that is more proficient at it than I would be.

I cant recommend enough Homesite 5 from Macromedia. This is THE html program to use IMHO, as I have used it since Day 1 its been out.

A book like that should be more than fine. If you want to learn, I mean really learn about HTML, avoid "drag and drop" programs like Front Page. It might confuse you more than it helps you.

I would be more than happy to offer help/suggestions if you want to email me.

Ace,

Thanks for the offer. I will most likely take you up on the assistance part. I am gonna get a book just to learn the basics - text mainly.

Jack, I will send you an email requesting a page. It should be fun. I always wanted to learn this stuff and you're giving me a chance to follow through. Thanks.

I would like to request a link page to the user's sites.

Also, Gamblers Anonymous is misspelled on the front page :)

Thank you.

How do I get to these people's sites without coming back to this thread?

Thanks--I think they look excellent for starters!
