Last night I was talking with my bro and said if this line is over 10, i want to take NC State. I was so caught up at work that we both forgot about it and didnt play it... my god NC State was up 52-50 and got outscored 31-16 to end the game.. WOW thank god i was busy at work... UNREAL!! i missed the end, did the refs do what they usually do and give Duke every call?
I really think State outplayed them.....or at least it was even. Duke gets so many little calls. A couple non-walks turned into 3-ptrs. Shelden committed about 7 fouls, yet played the whole game with, what, 3? That ape never gets called for anything.
Coach K is a fraud.
They get 10 points every time out, if not more. All those little things add up.

I wonder whose blood was on his elbow early in the 2nd half. I also wonder how much more time they could possibly give to Duke before making them sub.
while the "coach k is a fraud" comment could be one of the most ridiculous posts in the history of this forum, it is pretty disgusting that ncstate ended up losing that game by 13 somehow.
it's also pretty disgusting that somebody with "jesus" in his name called sheldon williams an "ape". but i digress.
Meant to reply to this post last week. Sorry, I use the word "ape" b/c he is big and all he does is bully his way around. Not with moves, just by pushing and charging, and usually either gets a foul or a no-call, whichever benefits him and Duke.
I think Coach K is a great coach. But I think he's also a fraud. I've been watching ACC basketball for about 25 years. I've seen an extreme amount of Duke games. Almost every game is filled with a few calls here and a few no-calls there that completely change the game.
Its more bogus than WWE wrestling.
Duke has great teams. Great talent, great play. But they always have that extra advantage that teams just can't compete with. Close games turn into blowouts and losses turn into close wins b/c of the refs.

Look what happens when Duke gets a fair game. Game today against GeorgeTown could have gone either way. Refs didn't really favor either team. If that game had been in Durham, completely different. Part of difference would have been Cameron. But a bigger part would have been refs handing game to Duke. And its not just at home....just "especially/always" at home.
They are def. a top 3 ACC team every year. But not #1 every single year and can't be touched. ACC basketball has turned into a joke last several years. Also, ACC prob. has the biggest floppers in the nation, starting with the dookies.

Part of the reason betting Duke is so hard is what I call the "ND" factor. They have a huge national following like ND and a history of greatness. That equals alot of money in the balance every time they play. I think Vegas DEFINATELY fukks with the lines based on this knowledge. For example, I saw the Duke/GT line today, and INSTANTLY knew it was way too many. Yet at my book duke was being bet at over 80%. Point is, REGARDLESS of the line, folks are gonna ride Duke anyhow. So the books just inflate the lines as much as possible, AND deflate as well! Whatever they have to do to manipulate a huge public following. Yeah, the "ape" comment had nothing at all to do with race. The only color I hate is royal blue.
Yes, I am a huge Tarheel fan and I know that I'm biased but I really do think theres something to what I'm saying. Also, I've never liked Wake, but I liked Odom and thought he did a great job. Prosser comes in and all of a sudden its like Wake isn't any better but gets an ass-ton of calls. Maybe Prosser and K just intimidate the refs.
I also know, that as a Carolina fan, UNC has gotten their share of calls over the years. I really hate that stat where a team shoots more free throws than their opponents MAKE. Something fishy about that stat and Duke has gotten it like 10 years in a row now. UNC used to get it a lot too.
Just seems like everything is completely overboard last 5-10 years or more with Duke.
Anyway, biggest reason I replied was to clarify the "ape" comment, and to explain a littler further while admitting that I do look through light blue glasses. Also, to joke around a little with gman2 on his comment about my comment....

what were the stats last year? how many did unc shoot for the yr versus duke ? seems like yesterday packer even said redick got hit on 3 pt shot when they were down 74-70. big deal. calls go both ways unless you are villinova vs unc in ncaa tourney. by the way doesn't farm boy tyler hansmule do any pushing in the lane?TouchdownJesus said:
