Now keep the government out of our hair in regards to Internet Gambling. That will be the true Majacks legacy of GW Bush, no?

Oh and, ease up on monitoring our cell phone and email information, that'd be nice too. But perhaps I'm dreaming.

Right on

Unfortunately the government wants to plunder our wealth in the gambling industry

Personally, I take the status quo -- dont want it legalized (regulated and taxed) nor do i want it outlawed with the government monitoring my financial transactions

As for the cell phones, not sure that that was all blown out of proportion by the media, but yes get them out of that too

I am tired of the government providing bandaid solutions to lack of enforcement at the border allowing Machmud Americanhater and JoseTuberculosis in freely

Yeah, that's great. Thanks, George, for making sure Dr. Freeze gets his tax refund back so he can "spend" money and keep the economy rolling. Thanks for making sure that the select few now get some extra cash to do with what they will (many of which probably won't spend it in the current economy to any extent because they don't need to), so my daughter, son, step-son and grandson can pay this money back in the coming years when all our skyrocketing federal debt has to be paid partially because of the tax cuts for Freeze and the select few. I know I personally was happy to see that so much of my current tax money going to pay off George's debt for the past couple of years.

Thanks, George, for being the only President in history with enough cahones to forcefully push for additional tax cuts for Freeze and the select few during an elective war time and then coming out at the same time telling other Americans that you are going to need us to pay more for your war that won't even show up on your budget. Actually, my son, daughter, step-son and grandson will end up paying for your war, while Freeze goes to Macy's and grabs a new flowered bar-be-que shirt with his new stipend.

I'm also thankful that Freeze and the select few get these tax refunds while your buddy contractors are making billions of our tax money and apparently outright stealing it in Iraq and the Gulf Coast while you and your friends look away and try your best to deflect attention from it. Thanks, Rummy, for letting us know that George's buddies are going to need some more billions in the coming year(s?), while you guys will push for more cash for Freeze and the select few to grab some new flowered bar-be-que shirts.

Thanks, George, for making sure that Freeze and the select few get some extra spending money while making sure that many mothers will not be able to collect their rightful child support money with fewer support officials, veterans that fought wars like you elected to engage in will do without some benefits in the coming years, thousands of students - who could help shape the future of our country - have had funds available to borrow and pay back to help them go to and get through college cut.

One more thing...thanks George, for choosing not to adequately fund border control/patrol agencies (and actually pushing for cuts there) in the past to make sure that Freeze and the select few can toss around some extra cash at their poker games and maybe upgrading from Top Sirloin to Prime Rib for their Bar-be-ques.

Enjoy your new shirt, Freeze. Happy days are here again - for you.

I forgot (at least) one thing...thanks, George, for borrowing so much money from China, Japan and some other really cool countries that obviously are only looking to help us out, so Freeze can sing your praises. Ain't America great...for some? Wait...is that China on the phone? Sorry, China, George is in Crawford right now at Freeze's Bar-be-que, but he'll get back to you after his May vacation.

Way to go Bush don't pay our government bills. Let interest rates keep going up so every-ones money buys less. Ruin the houseing market while your at it.

Well fellas, here is an update

The Freeze's just purchased a 4 GB Ipod with a few accessories thanks to George W.'s tax cuts

Went to a store where some young kid earned some nice commission on my purchase. GWB's tax cut just gave this kid more money to spend on whatever he wants -- perhaps a college education!!! (if he deems it worthwhile for his particular interest -- and now HE has more power to decide instead of the government!!)

In addition, my expenditure was taxed and more $$ is put back into the local government, where meaningful changes take place. Now our city park can be maintained with that much extra care and city park worker's health care was just paid in part thanks to GWB!!!!

In addition, the company made more of a profit putting more in the hands of shareholders benefiting many folks' retirement plans making health care and prescription drugs more affordable.

Not to mention, productivity was rewarded and the incentive to produce a good product for a low price is reinforced.

I could go on, but just look at all the postiive things coming out of this tax refund and all who benefited!!!

I will detail you all on what I do with the rest of my savings which GWB saved from government plunder.

It's unfortunate more can't see the long-term ramifications of the increased debt and deficit and how they will ultimately be more costly for everyone than the relitively small short-term rewards of a tax benefit for few. It's too bad that people simply concerned about the bottom line are blindly called socialist.

It's impossible to have long-range economic vision in the "what can you do for me right now?!" culture we live in. Well, good luck to your grandchildren.

I'd be very curious to know what store you bought the IPOD at and if the kid really made any commission from it. That would be unusual, at best. Did you ask him, or just assume that you were doing the world a favor with all your spending? I know for sure that kid is gonna have to sell a helluva lotta IPOD's to pay for his tuition the way things are headed for these kids. Not only that, I'd imagine that IF the kid made commission on that purchase, it would be offset by his share of paying down the Federal Debt caused by Bush this year. But you keep telling yourself what a do-gooder you are, Freeze. I'm sure there are a few hard-working moms out there that wish their dead-beat ex-husbands would be enforced to pay their child support so that their child could have a new IPOD - or hope to have a college education that will never come because of the Bush priorities.

I'd also imagine that your local tax burden on that IPOD might be increasing, due to less coming down from the federal level due to cuts to fund George's wars and your tax cuts. I'd also suggest that if George and his buddies have anything to say about it, your local park would be a non-issue, and probably not worthy of any funding compared to other "important" things. Yeah, we all know how important the environment and clean parks are to this President.

Of course your other railings of societal greatness are incredible leaps of faith and could be addressed, but why? No reason to break up the backslapping for you Bush-ites. I'll just wait to see how bad Jeb could mess up the NFL...I think that's the only hope we'll have to have any Bush supporters see any kind of negative in Bush monetary policies.

We sure might see a rise in popularity in the NBA and NHL, though. Can't you just see a Dubbya-led MLB and a Jeb-led NFL?!?

Looks like some of our leftist pessimists got up on the wrong side of the bed

Dr. Freeze specifically asks where people get commission and if the price is similar, he purchases from those stores. Example of a store with commission (although slightly overpriced: COMPUSA).

I forgot to mention: The earnings on the sale of that IPOD will now not only be taxed, but DOUBLE TAXED as the earnings on the corporation will be taxed as well as individual earnings out of that pretaxed net income. This will increase even more revenue for the tax and spend lefties to waste. Not that this is a good thing, but should somewhat appease these negative anti-capitalist, anti-freedom individuals.

They would rather see the government controlling how much we can make, how we control our business, etc. etc. than see people profiting, doing business freely, making good money, spending the dollar how they see fit, etc. etc.

What a sad state of humanity these lefties are!!!!

Dr. Freeze also apparently likes to speak in the 3rd person.

How does concern about debt and deficit and knowing realistically that the costs of running this deficit increases over time make a person a "leftist"?

I still can't get how the good doc can off of student loans get tax money back. Do you pay any tax or do you have a wife who really works.

Government backed student loans to go to a subsidized public higher education just so he can talk about the leeches of a welfare state. I'm appalled, too, djv.

The pessimists keep coming!!!!

Now the leftists are railing against their own plans!!!

How pathetic!!!

Not only do they detest conservatism, but they detest their own futile policies.

Misery loves company and so does the left wing in America.

i'll ask the question to every liberal who complains of tax cuts:

on your 2006 tax form....did you refuse your refund or send the feds additional money on top of what you legitimately owed?

if not, why not?

if you feel the government needs more of your money, you are free to send them money at any time......since this is a gambling site i'd wager that no liberal has ever sent more than they owe or refused their refund.

Who hates tax cuts if everyone gets one. If you pay taxes And there payed for. When not paid for believe me you will end up paying some place else. It's just called hiding the tax.

A very paintbrush-like question, but I'll address it. My main complaint with the current round of enacted and proposed tax cuts are the incessant drive to make them for the upper 1% of taxpayers (which I am certainly not one of) - and especially pushing for them at a time of a war that this administration elected to engage in. I think, honestly, that my wife and I pay a pretty fair tax rate and I see the benefits of those taxes every single day. I'm happy to live where I do (state is #2 on the best places to live in the US and it is considered to be highly taxed) and do not complain about my tax rate while at the same time enjoying the benefits of what those taxes do (except for paying down the deficits largely caused by this President for something I personally don't believe in).

So, no, I don't send in my tax refund, because that is simply an amount above and beyond our tax due - which I pretty much consider fair and do not complain about. Your point - at least in my case - seems really weak to me. For the record - we didn't go right out and spend our refund on "stuff"...we put the refund towards our debt, which we aggressively pay off every chance we get. I wish this administration would make better choices with our tax money, so we wouldn't have to pay more of our tax burden to pay back Bush's elective debt.
