Preview & outright plays:

Originally called the Dakota Dunes Open, this is one of the original six tournaments on the maiden Buy.com Tour of 1990. With the Dakota Dunes Country Club hosting the event every year, there is plenty of course form. Cited as one of the first 100 clubs in the US, the course was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1991 to bring it up to Tour golf standard. As with any Palmer course, there is scope for aggression off the tee and the course is not that penal. It was the 24th (of 31) hardest course on the Buy.com Tour last year.

With Heath Slocum playing win or bust golf at the moment, he is passed over this week and instead the three selections are Tim Petrovic, Matt Peterson and Brad Klapprott. Petrovic is winless this year, but he has had two runners-up spots, plus three other top-4 finishes and is 2nd in the scoring average stats. It may be a month since his last top-four, but the week's break will be good for his game. He did finish 17th two years ago, but this has been his breakthrough year and in a field weakened by players entering the B.C. Open, he stands a good chance of recording his maiden win.

Peterson is a veteran of the Buy.com Tour, having been a member every year bar one since 1992. In that time he has recorded just one victory (1995 Central Georgia Open), but is having a much better season this year with two top-3 finishes to date. While many of the field are playing this course for the first time, Peterson can boast eight previous visits, which include two top-10 finishes and a worst of 31st in the six times that he had made the cut. He could feature this week.

Klapprott is a rookie on the Buy.com Tour, though he made quite an impression last year when he played in two events and finished in the top-10 in both of them. He found the step up from the South Florida Golf Tour to the full-time Buy.com Tour problematic at first - he missed five of his first seven cuts - but he took a week off and has since finished 3rd and 21st in the last weeks but no round over par. With renewed form and on a Palmer course that rewards good driving - he ranks 2nd in total driving - he looks a decent proposition for a top-10 finish.

Outright plays:

Tim Petrovic to win 14/1 e.w. @ Simon Bold
Matt Peterson to win 40/1 e.w. @ Simon Bold
Brad Klapprott to win 50/1 e.w. @ Simon Bold

72-hole plays:

Ryuji Imada to beat Billy Judah -111 @ Simon Bold
Judah may have turned his season around with three cuts made including 5th last week - he had missed 10 of 11 previously - but he faces a much better player in Imada. He may have missed the cut the past two weeks, but he secured two runners-up spots this season and has played this course before. He finished 21st last year

Matt Peterson to beat Matt Kuchar -111 @ Simon Bold
Life on the Buy.com Tour away from the crowds has not been so sweet for Kuchar. He regularly struggles to make the cut and must be opposed with one of the outright selections who has settled for life on this Tour and so is more likely to perform at this level

Chad Campbell to beat R.W. Eaks -111 @ Simon Bold
Eaks has struggled with his game this year. He has only one top-5 finish so far and he cannot take comfort in his course form. In the last two years he has failed to reach the weekend. By contrast, Campbell has won on Tour this season and stands 3rd on the money list with four top-10 finishes. No course history, but in much the better form

Update:

Two of the three plays are decided at the cut and they are split. Imada lost by six to Judah, while Campbell beat Eaks by six. In the remaining play, Peterson trails Kuchar by two with two rounds to play. Struggling a little with the outrights. Petrovic missed the cut, while Peterson is 24th and four shots out of a place finish and Klapprott is one shot back in 33rd place.

Final update: 1-2-0 and -1.22 units

Lost the remaining play as Peterson had a poor weekend to finish nine shots behind Kuchar. Meant a first losing week on the Buy.com Tour

Update on outright plays: 0-3 and -3.00 units

Very poor performance from the three selections this week. Petrovic missed the cut, Klapprott finished 54th and Peterson was best-placed in 36th. Not a good event.
