byu is jekyl-hyde home and away. theyre pounding teams at home, but very suspect on the road. definitely a short lay here. if byu plays to their potential, they can win by 7-9 points. but theyve just been terrible on the road the last month or so. depends on which byu team you think will show up

worth noting for total players:

byu and new mexico are both solid FT shooting teams
(nmex 71%, byu 72%)

and both shoot the 3 well (byu 36.5%, nmex 38%)

pretty reliable fundamental teams

think I am going to take a shot at the NM moneyline. Well balanced team with all 5 starters in double digits playing at home.

I am in the minority, but I personally like BYU in this ballgame, I think new mexico gets a little too much credit in the line for home court, and if Araujo can get established they can win by 7-12 pts IMO, new mexico always tough there, but I always have watched these big monday midnight games for years now, New Mex doesnt have Douglas anymore, I think they're a little down, Byu is gonna hafta play a decent game to win but I think theres a good chance of that, new Mex I think needs to play a very good game to win, good luck to all

Agree with NYSportsfan here, and really like BYU -3. Early in the season I am not a big fan of short road favs, but as we get into conference play, I think it changes a little. They are opened as short favs because they are the better team. I know it has historically been a tough venue to play in (the Pit), but I too don't think this NMex team is nearly as good this year. Looking at their schedule I am hard pressed to see any wins over quality opponents. Their home schedule has been cupcake city (Coppin St., Sac. St., Penn St., Portland-and they even lost the latter). I guess maybe their last game against Utah was impressive, but even that team is not that great IMO. New Mexico has never been a very disciplined team and will throw the ball away often.

BYU has been erratic on the road, but I still think they are the cream of the MWC, or at least one of the best in the conference. They have some quality wins and they have a very well balanced attack with some nice shooters and the force Araujo inside. I honestly think this one might look similar to NMex game in The Pit against Air Force this year. BYU will bounce back from the waxing they took at Air Force. Hell, with the way Air Force is playing that sure wasn't a horrible loss! BYU should dominate tonight.

Good Luck to All,

-JC
