Outrights:
Of course the superb grinders like Zach Johnson and Jim Furyk can do well at Doral (or anywhere), but I'm of the definite opinion that a "modern game" of very aggressive driving, short irons from everywhere, a full arsenal of short game shots, and of course holing putts and scoring on the four Par 5s (as well as an affinity for Florida bermuda and breezes) will stand you in very good stead at Doral vis-a-vis the rest of the field.

Rory McIlroy(33/1) e.w.
- - He'll hit some sort of wall or at least a blip before much longer, but right here and now on a course that naturally suits, with familiar Euro stalwarts about, in one of the few places in America to which the teen has a connection, I think I'm getting decent value for my investment.
Aaron Baddeley(80/1) e.w.
- - His wife's pregnancy behind him, and inspiration from his caddy, are among the hints of something in the air, and again I see a very favorable venue and plenty of focus to keep pushing his name in the right direction on the leaderboard.
Louis Oosthuizen(150/1) e.w.
- - He's been on view enough lately that I think I'm right in recalling that his short game has been shining; he can certainly crank it out there and hasn't been afraid to go low. While he was not very sharp in losing to McIlroy at the Match Play, I don't think he's fallen off very far from his best.
Retief Goosen(50/1) e.w.
- - Just the idea of that long putter is off-putting, but I think his game has been trending noticeably for some time, and Doral/Florida would be prime spots for a validation of class.

Make that twice in the desert, twice in the Match Play, and twice this year. I need a fairly compelling reason to pick up a winning marker; the opposite of that here.Geoff Ogilvy(25/1) e.w.
- - I think the things that have been missing most from producing higher finishes since Kapalua have been less than ideal Sunday venues and a little less focus . . . I see upgrades in both areas this week, and I'm an Ogilvyaholic who's won with Ogilvy four times, once in the desert, once in the match play, once for the biggest prize in all of sports, and once this year.
