Riverside was leading Ariz St. for a while last week....UCLA has a tendency to play down to their opponents. Not much of a killer instinct. Don't seem to be real comfortable at a fast pace (freshman pt. guard) which would be helpful if wanting to cover such a large number. If I were to go on this, it would be Riverside. But I'm not a local and don't know much more than seeing the scoreboard and UCLA give lackluster performances on TV.

Hoops? What are your big plays tonight. So far Ive thought about playing Mich state +12
James madison +5 and now possibly cal riv with the points. Idid like UCLA at first glance but now am leaning towards this Cal riverside team. Info?

Nighthorse- Looks like another frosh, Thompson, will start at point. Bozeman was highly touted entering the season, but has struggled somewhat, although the injury could have been a big part of his problems. Kapono can also handle the ball..he might see some time running the team as well. I don't think losing Bozeman is a major loss right now..when he returns and gets a few more games under his belt he'll be a factor towards the end of the season.

Bigplay- If you like Mich St, might want to wait and watch the line..going up, at +14 right now. I am staying away from the UCLA game..Cal-Riverside isn't very good, but they hung tough at Arizona St and covered at Fresno (without Ely)...UCLA is going to win by double-digits, but 25 is risky. First person I've seen that is on James Madison..too many people for my taste on West Virginia..I think I'll be passing on that game too.

Hoops------West Virginia sounds too good to me. It reminds me of last night in regards to how everyone was on Iowa. James Madison isnt that bad of a team plus they have homecourt advantage. I like the points with the crowd, and the spot is rising. Im gonna let this get up to 6 1/2. What else you looking at?

Thanks for the info, Hoops. MSU is slightly down this year, but more often than not, you gotta figure they make due quite nicely with +14.

While we're throwing things out, see if this sticks to the wall: You can throw Utah/Utah St./BYU/Weber St in a round robin tournament and most games would fall within 7.5pts. Weber St. gets 7.5 tonite. Weber St. probably takes this game more seriously than BYU, although I'm not a local and can't be sure. Haven't done much more than surface research, but looks good at first glance.

Cal Riverside only mustered 5 pts in the first 11 min vs. a weak defensive Fresno St. team. State was up by 28 when they pulled ALL their starters.........

Cal riverside is VERY, VERY, small and they run the 1950's version of the "flex" offense.

UCLA could cover easy if they wanted.....

take it for what's its worth but their are FAR better games on the board then this one!

Weak defensive team? The have only allowed two teams to shoot better than 40% from the field..Montana St 42%, San Fran 41%, and allowed over 65pts once. Tark's teams play better defense than given credit for and that is certainly indicative thus far this season.

IF nothing else, they're consistent. I don't know it's some kind of LA attitude thing, or what.....too much sun, surf, chicks to really care about bball (I can sympathize). In future UCLA games, if you suspect the Bruins may not care, they probably don't....take the points.
