Calling any DSS Gurus..................

I was speaking with somebody yesterday who informed me that DAVE (DirecTV), had been bought out by Dish Network. They also said that the plan is to replace all DirecTV receivers with Dish systems. I'm assuming Dish uses different technology and this move would render emulation with the DirecTV cards useless

.....If anybody knows the real story, and can share their thoughts on the direction this will take, please do. Thanks in advance.

Dish network did make a offer but I think the goverment has yet to approve it. If "Charlie from dish network ends up owning this I know for a fact he will put a stop to all of the cards that are provided for DSS.

gold is correct, but it will be way into future before the gov. approves this deal. beside the fact that dish is also accesible the same dtv. so enjoy.

I disagree...there are currently 10 million DTV customers vs. 4-5 million Dish users...simple math and economics would tell me that you DTV receivers and dishes will remain in use.

The dishes will remain in use but the little black cards won't. One thing I do like about Charlie Ergin is he is a big poker player :>
