Calling from the Bahamas

I am going to the Bahamas this weekend and I bought a pre-paid AT&T but I called to get the rates and they said it was no good that the Bahamas was a restricted area. I didnt want to take by cell phone but I guess I will have to. What do you guys think the rates will be from there and are there any other pre-paid cards that will work from there?

Not sure if the phone will work in the Bahamas. Check with your provider.

I used my phone from the Florida Keys last year to Georgia and it cost about 4 bucks a minute in roaming charges.
