Cam Newton threw 52 passes in Carolina's loss to Philadelphia on Thursday. The last 15 QBs to throw 49+ passes in a regulation (non-OT) game all lost.

The last QB to throw 49+ passes in a regulation game and win was Tom Brady against the Jets last season, when he threw 50 passes and won 22-17.

Note that Carson Palmer threw 51 passes this season in a win against the 49ers, but that game ended in overtime. Brian Hoyer, the opposing QB, threw 49 passes, so both QBs met this criteria.

Big Ben threw 55 last week, most of them to Jacksonville.
