if it comes down to him fighting in a medically ill state or not fighting at all, hopefully its off. there is way too much money on guzman from this board for him to enter as a dead man walking.

it's incredible, i put so much time and thought into this fight, crunched a zillion numbers and browsed so many props and predictions, and all for naught. our analysis was entirely for shit, guzman's physical state dictates this fight, not skill or talent.

thx for bringing this to our attention gw, i just woke up from a nap, never considered this possibility.

if the fight goes through, im my guzman bets back, and adding a wager on nate inside.

i originally had guzman and guzman by decision...and i had to buy back...i actually have a little extra on campbell now......

i think guzman`s better than nate, but, this whole weight thing is insane...something`s wrong...

i don`t ever recall reading that guzman wasn`t a diligent trainer before.....

this is a mystery...reminds me of jose luis castillo`s fall from grace...he`s never been the same since he had those weight issues...

it seems word hasnt spread far, its not on fightnews, and on ESB public forum only did a thread surface about it minutse ago

thanks a lot gw. once word spreads there could be a mad dash to the books to buy back guzman bets. i took campbell inside and campbell dec/tech dec, with extra profit on the inside. imagine my luck if guzman headbutts his way out of this, and both props win.

what a mess this has become. guzman could have been a p4p virtuoso, and look how his career has panned out.

i still think guzman is a rare bird...better than campbell......

i just don`t understand this weight issue...

if these odds drop enough,i may jump back in on guzman.....

why can`t a guy moving up 5 pounds make weight?...he hasn`t fought in almost a year.....wtf happened?...

i don`t know what to think...

i agree that guzman is a rare bird, and certainly better than campbell.... but can be tonight?

what alarmed me is that guzmans team considered pulling out and brought the idea to the commission, only to learn of the stiff potential consequences. it would be one thing if the fight was to be called off b/c of the weight, but for the guzman camp to privately approach the commission looking to back out since guzman is in such ill medical condition, that's a huge red flag.

maybe this is all mind games and hype, and maybe guzman comes out like castillo did vs corrales in the rematch.... but that's a pretty serious mind game to play, with potential law suits and suspensions.

Sources close to the situation have just informed us that the clash between former super featherweight champion Joan Guzman and WBA, IBF & WBO champion Nate Campbell is officially off. Late last night, Guzman was forced to go to the hospital after suffering from dehydration and coughing up blood.

After coming in 3.5 pounds over the 135-pound limit, Guzman was given two hours to make the weight, but opted not to, instead returning to his hotel room. Hours later, Guzman was taken to the hospital for observation after coughing up blood. Due to the seriousness of the situation, the fight with Campbell has been called off.

ya fightnews is lousy in comparison to some of the newer sites ive been checking.

7:16pm ET Update: Campbell-Guzman is officially off, according to FightHype.com. No word on what Showtime will do with their card, but I'd guess they'll bump Bradley-Cherry into an awkward main event role and send the Velazquez-Rojas featherweight eliminator onto the open TV slot.

to those who care the man is on Rojas 3%.

you`d think a big outfit like fightnews with correspodents all over the world would be on this like feathers on a duck......

they`re actually pretty weak as far as the timeliness of their results......

they should have posted this already....

"The lightweight title fight between Nate Campbell and Joan Guzman is now officially off. Guzman is said to not be well enough to fight due to a health situation attributed to attempting to make weight. The commission doctor confirmed that Guzman was severely dehydrated and unable to go. The WBC super lightweight clash between Timothy Bradley and Edner Cherry will now be the main event and will be televised on tonight's SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast."

how exciting.......i could care less.....

Call me crazy, but i don't discount the possibility of Guzman being poisonned.

Graham Houston reported he was flying in training sessions. So what gives ?
