BetCRIS Sportsbook Posts odds on Michelle Wie Qualifying for the Men?s U.S. Open in Golf

May 22, New York ? The now 16 year old, Michelle Wie, has been playing golf against men since the age of 12. However, what she is trying to attempt next has never been done before by a female golfer; qualify for the men?s U.S. Open.

She took a huge step earlier this week in winning her local qualifier by shooting an even par 72. Wie and two other players advanced to sectional play next month, with Wie saying she will play in the June 5th, 36-hole sectional at Canoe Brook in Summit, N.J.

Can she do the impossible? BetCRIS Sportsbook posted odds on Michelle Wie qualifying for the 2006 men?s U.S. Open.

Will Michelle Wie qualify for the men?s U.S. Open?

Yes 6.75 to 1
No 1 to 10

?It is only a matter of time before Michelle Wie not only qualifies for a men?s major but also wins a men?s tournament,? said BetCRIS CEO, Mickey Richardson. ?She?s only 16 and can drive the ball as far as Tiger Woods. Like I said, it?s only a matter of time.?

My sources tell me Agent gives her two a side when they play Agusta and he's unbeaten there. So I'm gonna lay some cash on "NO" she doesn't qualify.

I think he's looking for some Wie money Jack--books strarted out with hype winning out and having her around -150 to make cut finally was about about 1/4 till they finally quit putting up odds.
IF--she continuely gets exemptions there will be some point in time she makes cut on major tour--but as far as being competative (chance of finishing top 10) she can forget it. Her chances of making cut ever would be huge if she had to qualify 1st as most do.--and don't believe the hype on her drives--she's not even longest on lpga--here are how her stats panned out vs field at Sony this year---her stats are 1st and field ave 2nd.
Driving Distance (All Drives) 267.5 275.3
Driving Accuracy 64% 54%
Greens In Regulation 53% 59%
Putts Per Round 31.00 28.97
Average Putt Made 3 ft 4 in 4 ft 10 in
Par 3 Average 3.38 3.02
Par 4 Average 4.29 4.17
Par 5 Average 4.75 4.56

The biggest diff between Wie and several other gals is her marketing firm which is not a sports marketing firm like other players but a movie star marketing firm--they sell the sizzle not the steak--and have suceeded beyond belief..
How good is a marketing firm that arranges appearannce fee in excess of entire purse of tourney for a 2 day and cut performance.
