Can someone please answer this MMA question

I have been watching MMA for a while now and it seems there are now a bunch of different leagues. I know the ufc is the main one, but what is the deal with all of the other leagues. For the longest time directv has had the WEC on friday nites and i just figured it was like the minor leagues of ufc,now there is the IFL on fox sports and world extreme combat which sucks and now the WEC is on the Versus channel. I thought i read that the UFC bought Pride but it just seems to be very confusing. If anyone can explain to me how all of these leagues are put together that would be great. I think its pretty cool that they are now on tv but just can figure it out. thanks

good question bud it is like there is a new league every day. As a fan this is the best thing for us. Competition. They have to watch out they don't over saturate the market tho but i am not complaining.

UFC did buy Pride.....

and there are a ton of leagues out there...but in my opinion there are 5 that have quality fighters....but yes the UFC is by far the top dog :SIB
