I think its this heavy to try to get people to go the other way and that reason only. Smacked AZ for 4 units and RL for 2. Hopefully no flukes. Schilling is rested and ready to go.

I'm gonna parlay AZ+ANA moneyline

I'm gonna parlay AZ+ANA moneyline

the total is way too unpredictable for me, what with weather and rookie making only third career start (first at home)...

Here some cut and paste stuff:

CURT SCHILLING vs. CHICAGO CUBS since 1997
SCHILLING is 3-3 when starting against CHICAGO CUBS with an ERA of 4.79 and a WHIP of 1.298.
His team's record is 4-3 (-0.4 units) in these starts. The UNDER is 2-5. (-4.1 units)

Scouting Report:Curt Schilling will be seeking his second consecutive 20-win season when he takes the mound Friday. The D-Backs right-hander is 1-1 with a 1.99 ERA in three starts this month. Chicago's Sammy Sosa has four homers off Schilling in 43 at-bats and a .326 average overall. Sosa has also struck out 17 times. Rookie Steve Smyth gets another tough assignment, although the lefty did pick up his first Major League win in his last outing Aug. 11 at Colorado.

Kimm: Wake up

Kimm wants things done the right way.
Manager Bruce Kimm called his first significant team meeting on Aug 14 to remind his players to stay awake after a player was caught sleeping in the Wrigley Field clubhouse during the Aug. 13 game. The Cubs lost the game to the Astros 5-4. Kimm gave his players a lecture on being prepared and acting professionally. "We are way back, but you can still go about things in a championship way," Kimm told the Chicago Sun-Times after his record fell to 16-18. "It's not a knock on any one person. It's just a few small things that I feel in order for the Chicago Cubs to be world champions someday, those things have to be done."

Diamondbacks (Schilling) at Cubs (Smyth)

--Arizona, riding a five-game winning streak overall, is 36-25 away from home.

--The 'over' is 6-2 this season between Arizona and Chicago.

--The 'over' is 33-26 at Wrigley Field since Chicago beat Houston Thursday, 6-4. The combined 10 runs landed directly on the closing total.

--Arizona's Curt Schilling is 10-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 12 road starts.

--The 'over' has cashed in both of Steve Smyth's starts for the Cubs.

Scouting report

Chicago Cubs

Sammy Sosa has a 10-game hitting streak and has hit eight home runs during that span. Sosa needs two more home runs to tie Lou Gehrig for 18th place on the all-time list with 493. Sosa has hit just one home run in 39 career at-bats against Curt Schilling.

Steve Smyth counters for the Northsiders. Smyth picked up his first big-league win in his last trip to the mound, permitting three runs on four hits over six innings against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. He walked two and did not whiff a batter.

In his previous start, his first in the majors, the lefthander gave up seven runs on six hits over three frames in a no-decision against San Francisco. He began this year at Double-A West Tenn and was promoted to Triple-A Iowa after going 4-4 with a 3.58 earned run average in 11 outings. The 24-year-old Smyth, who was Chicago's fourth-round pick in the 1999 draft out of the University of Southern California, went 3-2 with a 6.15 ERA in five starts for Iowa.

Schilling guns for 20

Arizona's Curt Schilling will try to become the first major league pitcher to win 20 games this season when he faces the Cubs today.

Three current Cubs have had decent success against Schilling over the years. Sammy Sosa has a lifetime .326 mark against him with four homers and eight RBI in 43 at-bats. Moises Alou is hitting .347 with three homers and eight RBI in 49 at-bats against Schilling. And Bill Mueller has a .375 average with three RBI in 24 bats against him.
