Outright plays (total stake per play: 1.5pts)

Jennifer Rosales to win 18/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
This has become an event blighted by problems. From extremely lengthy airport delays for the players to an ad for a local strip club appearing in promotional materials for the event, this is proving to be a sponsor's nightmare and there have been a very large number of withdrawals, which leaves Rosales as arguably the best player on view. Already a winner on Tour this year, she has become, with the exception of two withdrawals, a very consistent player this year and should, at the very least, repeat her top-10 finish of last year.

Lorie Kane to win 22/1 e.w. @ Centrebet
Living only two hours from the course, there will be a very large home support for Kane and particularly as this is the first time that it has been held in Atlantic Canada. She has said that she has been hitting the ball very well this year, better than her scores suggest, and this came to fruition with a 4th place finish in the U.S. Women's Open last month. With a record of five finishes in the top-8 in the last six years, she is clearly able to cope with home expectation and a repeat of her U.S. Women's Open form will make her an easy winner.

Brittany Lang to win 30/1 e.w. @ Centrebet
Lang finished ahead of Kane in the U.S. Women's Open - she was a runner-up having lead the event at several stages throughout the week and looked set to secure at least a playoff place until Birdie Kim incredible finish. In short, in the last two months she has finished 15th in the LPGA Corning Classic and 2nd in the U.S. Women's Open as an amateur and in her first event as a professional, she was 4th at the cut in the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic before fading over the weekend, not doubt partly due to the intense media coverage that she earned that week. Her second event as a pro will be much easier and she has shown that is one of the best up-and-coming players, so against a weak field and with no disadvantage in terms of course experience this week, another strong performance is expected from Lang.

Leta Lindley to win 50/1 e.w. @ Centrebet
In the last month she has finished in the top-25 of two major championships and finished 7th in the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic having been in the top-10 all week. That is good enough form in this field and having finished in the top-25 in four of her last five starts in Canada, there is plenty of reason to expect at least a top-25 finish this week.

Tournament Matchup

Lori Kane -124 over Meena Lee @ 5 dimes
-- Kane has a great record in this tourney. Nice info from Stanley about her living relatively close to here. Since there is not much to go on in terms of course form, this is my only play on this tour this week.

I have taking some small place only bets on the locals/long shots here in this weak field at Centrebet:

P Swenson (US futures tour player)
C Beauchesne(CAN)
E J Park(CAN)
V Appleton(CAN)
A Sharp(CAN)
All over 50/1 for Top 5!

Further outright play (total stake: 1.5pts)

In-Bee Park to win 80/1 e.w. @ Centrebet
The travel chaos for this event continues with many players not arriving until late Tuesday or early Wednesday and several of them without their clubs. The withdrawals continue and one of them is Rosales. This suggests that players such as Kane who avoided all the travel frustration will have a sizeable advantage. That should also be the case for the Monday qualifiers who had their qualifying tournament at Glenn Arbour itself and one particular player of note is the amateur, In-Bee Park. The 16-year-old's family first moved from Korea to Florida in 2001 to further her game and then to Las Vegas a year ago to work with the Butch Harmon School of Golf and she has made a big impression in the few LPGA Tour events that she has been invited to: she finished 8th in the 2004 Takefuji Classic and was invited back in 2005 and finished 5th. This week she qualified by right and against such a weakened field and with the advantage of having been in the area all week and playing well on the course already, another top-10 finish will be a realistic goal.

Matchup plays (1.5pts unless stated):

Brittany Lang to beat Moira Dunn -111 @ Centrebet
Quite a difference in form between these two. In Lang's last three events, she has finished 15th, 2nd (U.S. Women's Open) and was 4th at the cut last week; Dunn has missed two cuts and exited the Women's Match Play event after the 1st round. With a new course being used, any disadvantage to the rookie is negated and she should win this match with ease.

Young Jo to beat A.J. Eathorne -114 @ Expekt [3pts]
Also Birdie Kim-like in her recent discovery of form, Jo has finished 6th in the U.S. Women's Open and 12th in the Jamie Farr Owens Kroger Classic in her last two starts, though she had shown good form at the start of her rookie year. If she can continue that form, she will certainly beat the home player. Eathorne has just one top-30 finish from 12 strokeplay events this year and other than a 28th place finish in this event, her best finish in six LPGA Tour starts in her home country is 50th.

Leta Lindley to beat A.J. Eathorne -115 @ Centrebet [4.5pts]
If there is a concern in the previous match that Jo's form may only be temporary, that is not the case with this match. Lindley leads Eathorne 34-11-3 h2h since the start of the 2002 season and 8-3-0 this year in strokeplay events. She has finished ahead of Eathorne in five of six common events in Canada and comes into the event on the back of four straight top-25 finishes. Eathorne will need much more than home support if she is to make this match competitive.

Outrights - FINAL RESULT: 1-3; +4.13pts

Rosales dns
Kane 27th
Lang 6th
Lindley 3rd
Park mc

Profit on the event, but 50/1 shot Lindley was tied for the lead with two holes to play, trailed Meena Lee by one after the next hole, but instead of a four at the last hole and a playoff, she found trouble and took six. Having had a seven in the second round on that hole, it proved to be costly. Lang finished one shot out of the places to compound the frustration.

Matchups - FINAL RESULT: 3-0; +9.00pts

Lang/Dunn WON by 9
Jo/Eathorne WON by 5
Lindley/Eathorne WON by 8

All three wins by the cut ... a nice bounce-back after last week!
