Made bets yesterday in Formula one and one was with Villeneuve-Button. Villeneuve never start the race because he had electrical problem that damaged his gearbox. Sportsbooks according to their rules put it as no action/push bets EXCEPT Canbet!!! Hereis their rules regarding match ups: "All drivers involved in any match up must start, otherwise all bets will be deemed "no action" and all bets will be refunded. Bets are accepted on drivers only, not team or car."

I called them to see how come they don,t respect their rules and they are saying in the results Villeneuve was DNF and not withdraw!!!
 That is BS!!! I'm closing my account there today and warn you to be careful... Weird that the other sportsbooks graded it correctly but not that one? Are they short of money?

Keep us updated 1837, hopefully the result will be positive.

I don't see Canbet in the sponsors list of Madjack and i'm glad about it. Maybe they were before, i don't know... However, i know they are a bunch of cheaters in F1 and will take whatever decision fits them well (mean the one where they don't lose $$) vs a bet that have the fact of a void one) Shame on them and i want all of you to be warn if you have any money left there.

The end of story is that they are not gonna put the play as void/cancel even if it is clear ACCORDING to their OWN RULE that is one!  I went to the official site of F1 (www.fia.com) and see what they wrote as Race Facts and here what it is written for the beginning of that Malaysian GP:

BULLETIN No4

RACE FACTS AND INCIDENTS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cristiano da Matta is forced to start from the pitlane because of problems with his race car while Jacques Villeneuve's BAR fails to depart for the parade lap.

* Lap 1: At the start of the race Fernando Alonso goes into the lead with a fast-starting David Coulthard trying to grab second from Jarno Trulli with Michael Schumacher right with them. Further back Giancarlo Fisichella is left on the grid after stalling while trying to take up his correct position on the grid. Heinz-Harald Frentzen is also left behind. In the second corner Michael Schumacher runs into Trulli and punted the Italian off. Behind them Antonio Pizzonia runs into the back of Juan Pablo Montoya. Jos Verstappen runs into the back of Pizzonia. The order after all this is Alonso ahead of Coulthard, Nick Heidfeld, Kimi Raikkonen, Jenson Button, a delayed Rubens Barrichello, Olivier Panis, a fast-starting Justin Wilson, Ralf Schumacher and Mark Webber. At the end of the lap Alonso is 2.4 seconds ahead. Montoya, Pizzonia and Verstappen all pit. All three cars are repaired but all fall out of contention.

So, as seeing on TV, Villeneuve was even not on the grid at the start!!!! To play with words DNF and not Withdraw (by the way, when have we seen a result with withdraw???- I don't recall it...)
is totally BS!!! These guys are short of money or what?

BEWARE my friends...

England, u.k.
I am sorry to hear of your plight with Canbet.

Formula 1 is a dangerous sport to wager on as rules seem to differ on numerous occassions.

I once bet on number of finishers in the race and a driver crashed out with 7 laps to go giving me a winning bet as clearly he was not racing when the winning driver crossed the winning line. To my dismay, he was classed as an official finisher 7 laps behind the winner. When I enquired into this I found that the number of laps he had completed were within 10% of the final total of number laps completed.

Now then, you are probably aware that the warm up lap counts as one lap out of the total laps of the race. Villeneuve's car was lined up on the start grid yet took no part. But the fact that it lined up but took no part still constitutes as starting. Here is the official result;

MALAYSIAN GRAND PRIX - RESULT

Dry track

Pos. Driver Team Time
1 K Raikkonen (Fin) McLaren 1:32:22.195
2 R Barrichello (Bra) Ferrari +39.286

4 R Schumacher (Ger) Williams +88.026
5 J Trulli (Ita) Renault 1 Lap

7 J Button (GB) BAR 1 Lap
8 N Heidfeld (Ger) Sauber 1 Lap
9 H-H Frentzen (Ger) Sauber 1 Lap
10 R Firman (GB) Jordan 1 Lap
11 C Da Matta (Bra) Toyota 1 Lap
12 J-P Montoya (Col) Williams 3 Laps
13 J Verstappen (Hol) Minardi 3 Laps

Fastest Lap: M Schumacher 1:36.412 (Lap 45)

Retirements
Driver Team Lap Reason
A Pizzonia (Bra) Jaguar 42 Spin
J Wilson (GB) Minardi 41 Injury
M Webber (Aus) Jaguar 35 Gearbox
O Panis (Fra) Toyota 12 Electrical
D Coulthard (GB) McLaren 2 Transmission
G Fisichella (Ita) Jordan 0 Gearbox
J Villeneuve (Can) BAR 0 Engine

As you can see Villeneuve is classed as taking part.

If you are still un-happy, Canbet-usa is part of the Canbet group.
Go to canbet.com, click on Govt Safeguards from the home page, scroll down till you come to "sports betting disputes". This tells you all you need to know and allows you to download the complaint form.

Best of luck, I know you feel hard done by, but it's like a racehorse entering the starting gate and when they open the horse fails to leave. You couldn't go to the tote windows and demand your money back, can you now?
I am afraid it's one of those things that happen in racing / sports that is infurrating but if you wish to gamble in such markets then these are the pitfalls. Tread carefully.

British, i won't compare horse racing with cars, it's like orange and apples to me. I do know the official results and i asked them to show me then an example of WHEN they have seen an official results with a withdraw. They couldn't recall it as i. I then ask then to give me an example when a driver would NOT be part of the match ups and they couldn't!!!! Villeneuve was not on the starting grid after the warm up lap and the race was even not started so if i read their rules, i have a point and a good one. Others sportsbooks graded it as a push/cancel and they were following their rules. WHY NOT CANBET??? Anyhow, i,m not playing with them anymore and i can tell you that i will keep a sour taste of that experience...

Well... it seems it won't have to go through the commission! :) To my surprise here's what i've received from Canbet:

"On further examination we have realised we have made an error in grading and refunded the stake of your ticket to the value of $XXX USD. This should have been graded as a non- starter however the report that our employee received stated that Villenueve started the race by stalling his car. This has proved erroneous on further examination and as such we have adjusted your account. We apologise for this inconvenience and hope that you will continue to wager with Canbet Sports Bookmakers."

So I apogize and withdraw my accusation of cheaters to Canbet. The lesson to take from it is to stay persuasive when you know you are right and keep faith in the system!
