I think Stoke may be worth a few bucks today. Tough to gauge motivation for these Cup games, especially the Capitol One Cup, but I think Stoke will be the more motivated team today. England is in the midst of a brutal few weeks of scheduling. Liverpool is not in their best form at the moment, especially on the road, given their lack of scoring prowess. They also have the shorter turn around having to play on Friday in the FA Cup, which is more meaningful. Stoke tends to rise to the challenge against larger clubs at home as they have beaten Chelsea, Man u and Man City at home (they did lose to Liverpool, but that was the first game of the year back in early August). The other added benefit is the value you get with Stoke. These are two teams that are practically even on the league table and you get Stoke at home +215 (or Pk+135). This is what I love about the Premier league. The big 5 are typically overvalued given their name recognition and money that flows to them. This year, in particular, has been very profitable betting against them in the right situations.

I love betting soccer since anything can happen on any given day. Today, I think there is value on the home team. Good Luck!!

Thanks. Stoke had plenty of chances to score in that game, its just how it goes.

Bobby has a nice write up for today's game. I don't love the game (only because a draw is just fine with City), but I will play some action money on Manchester City as they are the better team. They are coming into top form right now.

Will be an interesting weekend in the FA Cup. There are always big upsets. I typically look for Premier League teams playing at second to fourth division teams. I need to dig in more, but I think plays against Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Stoke may be in order. Will only need to one to win to win money.

Also some interesting Copa Del Rey games today. Sevilla/Betis is a huge Basque rivalry game. Sevilla is clearly the better side, but it should be a very physical game with plenty of cards. May be worth a draw bet. Barca plays Espanyol. They played last week to a 0-0 draw at Espanyol and now the total is o3.5 -155. I will probably play Atletico today in the Madrid rivalry. They are one of my favorite teams. They recently won at Rayo 2-0. Barca and Real get all the hype but they both trail Atletico in La Liga.

Should be an interesting few days.

.

You look at the table and there's not many teams in the mid table that can afford a cup run, but Stoke was one of them. Hughes is definitely switching up his side though. At first look, I like Birmingham city, manchester city, Spurs and Chelsea but it's definitely a weekend for research like you said.
