Don't know if this was brought up by anyone. On a recent Dodgers vs. Phils broadcast, I think it was Vin Scully who mentioned about the possible effects of the Rolen trade. Of course Rolen should have a positive impact (better slugger), but Placido Polanco was arguably the most popular player in the clubhouse. I don't know how true that is or if it has any correlation to the St. Louis' recent malais, but it could have a short-term impact, if anything, as Rolen adjusts to his new surroundings and the Cards lose a key catalyst and Pujols' best bud on the team.
